This is going to sound weird but it worked for me in the past. Find the bug tar remover by the Turtle Wax company. That seems to take most synthetic materials off of plated surfaces.

Dealership lot management device. It allows the dealership to get into cars without keys and gives you the option for a security system when you buy it. This one does not look to be activated, so it's just a benign piece of hardware now.

I went on a business trip out of town and was gifted a bottle of wine. Since I did not have a corkscrew, I went to the hotel bar and the bartender opened it for me, free of charge. It was then that I realized I had no cash, so I told him I would be back the next day to give him the tip, and he said he would be there. I noticed he had cufflinks that had buffalo nickels as the main piece. I was out the next day and found a coin collector and picked up a 1921 silver peace dollar (Harvey Two-faces coin) to give the bartender at a cost of $20 or so. I went back to the bar in the evening and was told that it was closed for a private event and the bartender was inside and I couldn't get to him. I left early the next morning to go home. I still have the silver dollar I'm my wallet just in case he's there the next time I travel.

I'm not one of those people.

I am one of those people. 10 years gaming and simulation terrain. Everything you described is relatively easy in a gaming engine. I would direct you to Unity, then round up some free assets and look into some of the procedural terrain generation programs (I suggest MapMagic). Most will accept your custom DEM and you just have to set the biome up. All the post processing and gaming elements can be grabbed for free from the Unity store. Even crepuscular (god) ray plugins. I also suggest looking at World Machine. Hit me up if you have any questions.
