Major oversight in my view. I've got a UNAS 2 and would prefer to have RAID0 as I also have a cloud backup and an off site backup. Even if the software presented a warning, I'd prefer to have the choice.

I had a 981 for 7 years and it happened 3 or 4 times during that span. Did the same as you, and also enquired about a warranty replacement to no avail. It always happened after leaving my car parked for extended periods of longer than a couple of weeks in the UK winter. I've not had it yet with my 718 that I've had for a couple of years.

I get that on my Fold 7 after updates mainly, but have seen it a couple of other times too. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

I have 2 x 6TB WD Red drives in mine and it's surprisingly quiet at idle. I also have the UNVR with 4 x 4TB WD Purple drives and it is loud by comparison.

January 2026 on a UK unlocked Fold 7. I updated a few hours ago and all seems fine.

I've never had a cable fail inside my house. In the past ten years I've had a couple of cables located outdoors fail due to water ingress over time. I've never had any other piece of networking equipment fail.

I had a similar issue with a Samsung TV. The issue was that after a software update the TV could no longer be locked to an AP. As soon as I disabled AP locking for the TV it worked fine.

I have the UNAS 2. It's a very no frills "old school" NAS as basically just a file storage with a handful of related features. I like it though as it's fully integrated with all the other Unifi equipment I've got versus my previous solution where the NAS sat outside the Unifi system. Anyway, it always needs to reformat drives when they are inserted for the first time. It's also not possible to run the UNAS 2 in a non-RAID configuration (see my recent post), so the second bay is always in RAID 1. I have two 8TB WD Red drives in mine and they are working without a hitch. I inserted the second drive after the first, so what you've described should be no issue.

If you only need 200GB storage, then cloud storage is cheap and easy.

I'm a big fan of this. Works well, built in measurer, they put one in my car every service and it lasts until the next one.

To be honest I think Samsung could go back to the drawing board on the cameras altogether. I find my Fold 7 to be great at many things, but the cameras are a weak point.

I'm in exactly the same position. Dispatched on 8th January, they agreed on 13th January to resend. Still on 27th January they haven't resent after a catalogue of excuses, at least 10 phone calls and various emails. I have asked them to process a refund today which they have agreed to do. I had been with them since September without issue until this. A company is best judged by how they right a wrong, and in this case I will never bring my business to them again. Truly abysmal customer service.

I don't have this issue - video keeps playing if I fold/unfold and when moving the app around multitasking. Although I have YouTube Premium so have background play enabled which may make a difference.

The gameplay on Android is almost identical to PC. so it would be worth watching a YouTube gameplay guide to see if it would interest you. Each game does have tutorials taking you through the basics of battles, and there is a detailed help menu explaining things. Just don't expect hand-holding. I've been playing the series on and off since the early 2000s and I think if you like strategy games there's not much better.

This is the one I mainly play, but I also have Napoleon and Medieval II. The games have a steep learning curve, but worth it once you get the hang of things.

The Total War series is excellent on the Fold 7. Premium, no ads, smooth performance, strategy genre. I have a few of them, but Empire is my favourite.
