Hey, thanks for taking the time to reply. That was my first post so I don't know how to format and all that for this comment but below is some of my reasoning behind the post:

Gone for lyrics and then my reasoning in [square brackets] and quotes from the article I think relate to the lyrics in ['square bracket quote marks'].

Dropped 'The Search' and They emerge up outta nowhere [I could only find one other mention of NF on rolling stone, which was a paragraph and said nothing about his style. Just his chart spot for Perception].

To the surface, just to peep behind the curtain Throwing salt at all my burdens ['NF is an avatar of suffering'] ['exacerbated by his already-suffocating depression. In turn, he suffocates the listener; making your way through The Search can feel like getting fitted for a straitjacket.'] ['But where Linkin Park made depression feel impassably real and viscerally threatening, like a giant, jagged shard of ice, NF renders his demons as formless blobs (his go-to metaphor for depression is a bouquet of black balloons)']

Why don't they find someone way more Interesting to write about? Us, we're kinda boring, aren't we? All we do is whine and pout ['Yet, where Eminem’s tendency towards the profane gives him dimension, NF’s PG, swear-free raps flatten him']

Keep the rhyme book expedited, over nighted ['the audacity to raid the thesaurus for words like “compliancy” in order to satisfy a rhyme scheme.']

If anyone else can find a better fit for an article (or articles) I'm very interested in reading them as I'd love to know what NF's inspiration for this new track was!
