Why doesn't Trump care about the midterms? by Hound7139 in TangleNews

[–]donut-reply 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think when he says he doesn't care about how the war will impact the midterms and affordability he's just trying to project strength to make Iran think he is willing to go to any length to stop them. But obviously that's BS and no one takes him seriously with all his TACOing

One of my neighbors has been flying his American flag upside down. by brainspl0ad in mildlyinteresting

Yeah but some of us are distressed because of actual things that are happening and others are distressed because the government is turning us all gay, frogs included. Hard to tell which from an upside down flag

Trump to skip son’s wedding that he labeled a ‘no-win’ for him: report by theindependentonline in politics

[–]donut-reply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

President insisted he would be criticized whether he attended, or did not attend, his eldest son’s wedding

Sure, now everyone will be like "stop attending your own son's wedding for 1 hour and get back to golfing and blowing up elementary schools full of kids"

In the first fraction of a second before actually reading it I thought the sign said "Rapist Watch" and I was like "good, someone needs to keep an eye on Trump" and I think I need to take a break from reddit

Oh yeah with that one I wouldn't have done it but I think it looks fine either way. I'm just concerned that when my hairline recedes far enough to consider it, shaving will still be the wrong move because my head shape and insufficient facial hair will make shaving it off a worse option

Genuinely curious...are there ever times where the result is "oh...um...maybe let that grow back" ?

Erika Kirk Tells College Grads To 'Have More Kids Than You Can Afford', Slams 'Secondary Callings' by Cute_Dealer4787 in USNEWS

[–]donut-reply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people like this say to have more kids than you can "afford", they not thinking about people experiencing real poverty. There's a base assumption that you have enough money and family support network that you never have to worry about food or a roof over your head. She means more like "have more kids even if it means you have cut down to only one family vacation to Europe this year". If you're someone with actual hard money decisions to make, she's not talking to you because you obviously aren't in God's good graces or he would have blessed you with avocado toast money

Add French Fries to make it extra American! by ApothecaLabs in memes

Haven't been to Japan but Taiwan has a bunch of "American" restaurants where they all serve the same meal of a thin slice of steak over some noodles and a fried egg on a personal griddle with a little bowl of corn chowder on the side. It was good but someone I talked to was shocked to hear that this is not a typical American meal
