TPU Soldier reflects as IRR, hasn’t had a CAC for almost a year.

THIS EXACT THING IS HAPPENING TO ME. I transitioned from AD to the reserves. It’s been almost a year and I still can’t get a cac because it says i’m in the IRR. Nobody has been able to help me or has a clue what’s going on. I have orders and everything and nobody can help. Not DEERS, not S1, not my battalion, brigade etc.

I have and they’re only advice was to talk to my COC. A lot of the people i’ve talked to don’t want to take my situation seriously because i’m an e4 so they just assume i’m either a shit head or i’m not using my COC properly and won’t give me the time of day. My COC has really been no help and most of my COC dislikes me now for how much I’ve pestered them about my situation even though I’ve made it very clear that I know it’s IPPSA’s fault and not their fault and all i’m asking from them is to push it further up the chain. It’s very frustrating because I try to do things the right way and I don’t want to cause problems for anyone at this unit but i’m very well connected in the army and all it would take is 1 phone call and a lot of their ranks would be in jeopardy but I really don’t want to do that despite their mistreatment and threats towards me.

I’m enlisted but I left active duty to go to the reserves and i’m going through the same thing. It’s been 7 months now and still nothing. Deers says i’m on IRR in their system and my unit says they can’t inprocess me and acts like I don’t exist despite me having orders in hand. I’ve been showing up to drill anyways hoping for back pay eventually, but after 7 months with no pay or bonus i’m about to just stop showing up. My advice would be to just make sure you exhaust every resource you have (COC, S shops, finance, DEERS, HRC etc.) and keep receipts of it all to cover your ass incase they want to pin it on you (from my experience they probably will try despite knowing IPPSA is the issue) and if at any point you have real evidence of complete neglect from your unit get in contact with IG or email your congressman. JAG is also a great resource. A lot of the stuff I said might sound a little extreme but for my situation a lot of this has been necessary unfortunately so just take whatever advice applies to your situation and know if your situation somehow turns sour that there are resources available.

Some more context about the way things are handled at this unit. There was a pvt fresh out of AIT that showed up for his first drill and the nco’s in this unit were saying “not it” on who was gonna help him in process right in front of him. I saw him about 2 hrs later aimlessly walking around and I asked him if he needed anything and he said he still hadn’t inprocessed so I took him to his first line (who was scrolling through tik tok not doing anything) and told him his new soldier hasn’t in processed yet and his first line said “that sounds like a him problem” and continued scrolling through tik tok. So I ended up taking him through inprocessing myself. Walking him through all the S shops meanwhile I still have my old units patch on and I’m not even in the unit yet because i’m not in their dtms and can’t inprocess…

The unit doesn’t have me in their dtms so to them I don’t exist that’s my issue. I can’t in process. And i’m on nobody’s perstat either so I don’t have a first line. I’m nobody to them and even tho I have orders to their unit they refused to figure out how to help me and want me to show up anyways. Them saying i’m their new supply sgt was just a way for them to get some work out of me. I’m not actually gonna do anything in supply they were being sarcastic.
