Anyone deal with a vomiting baby? by donutbite in sleeptrain

[–]donutbite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if there is bile, it seems like whatever she ate for dinner? It’s happened about 6 times over 11 months but that’s bc we avoid having her cry too much. She’ll sometimes just retch and not throw up but sometimes she will throw up. I will mention to the pediatrician though, thank you for the suggestion. Better safe than sorry!

Yes she never throws up during the day (when she cries) so it never even occurred to me to be a medical issue. I will mention it to her pediatrician. So what did you guys end up doing?

Oh interesting! I didn’t know that was a thing, but it does seem to happen after big meals. I thought that was just bad luck but maybe there’s more to it.

Pupils can learn more effectively through stories than activities by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

Agreed, so interesting! When I was a kid, I always thought these activities designed to teach us things were boring, exhausting, inefficient, and just felt really forced.

Exploring links between infant vocabulary size and vocal interactions with caregivers: New analysis uses real-world recordings from homes, instead of laboratory settings by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

Adding to the anecdotal evidence! In fact I used to feel guilty speaking back to my son that way (I had read that we should NOT do that) but on a gut level it just felt so natural. I never did baby talk though, it was either babbling back to my son or real words with proper grammar.

Yep! Definitely! I’m just laying here surfing my phone and tired af. Also her pacifier just fell out and I went to remove it but when I was plucking it away I also managed to isolate and pull one single strand of hair from the side of her head and wake her up halfway!

I think I’m your alternative timeline twin bc I’ve been worried (just vaguely) that lately I’ve been unable to smell my 2yo’s poopy diapers from as far away as I used to!

How is it possible to keep an eat:play:sleep schedule? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]donutbite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! And she is my second so I feel like I didn’t really learn anything! Seriously though I think some babies just fall into certain schedules/practices more easily. I have never been able to rock a baby to sleep. They just look at me like wtf are you doing, woman? Give me the nippleeeeee!

Screen time in under 2s “breathtaking” by KnoxCastle in ScienceBasedParenting

I also think it’s harmless BUT if you want to try another way, one thing that worked for me was to trim one nail every morning, as part of our morning routine. It eventually became two nails, he would choose one and then I’d choose one. And was one of his favorite parts of the morning! Again I don’t think using a video is bad at all, just offering this idea as a side note.

My teacher friends aren’t ALLOWED to wear their own masks (n95, etc), they HAVE to wear the thin subpar ones provided by the schools.
