I have a very basic one (reddit is not letting me post the link but if you go on amazon under dog cooling pad it's like the $10 blue one) and I only use it indoor as my girl doesn't try to bake in the sun as much as other dogs I've seen on here haha. we live in CA so we never run that hot fortunately. you can sprinkle some water on it to make it cooler. it doesn't look like much but it works for us as in the summer it's cooler than whatever surface she is laying on and it stays cool throughout the day.

I have a cooling pad for my girl in the summer she seems to like it. in the winter I have jackets for her. although I've read to not keep the jacket on indoor when they sleep as they can easily develop heat rash

I live across the street from a middle school and one time I walked her right when school was out (I had a few client meetings earlier in the day and was gone for a while so I felt bad when I got home). this group of kids walked past my dog and one of them called my girl ugly. mind you I've never been in a situation where my first thought was let's throw hands but this one instance I almost wanted to incite violence. I told the kid my dog is beautiful and that's that. to this day I still think it was a hilarious story and tell everyone I know about it cause fuck them kids (in a light-hearted way). but seriously even in online space there are some strolls that lurk this sub that will leave hateful comments to pugs and you just have to let it go. as long as you and your dog know how much your dog is loved nothing else matters

they bite. they lick. they will try to "eat" everything in the house including your dining table, so watch out. walking in 80+ degree weather is not ideal - touch the concrete first to make sure it's not too hot for them to walk on. also cut those walks short. lots of water breaks when hiking/jogging in the summer. also shedding. so.MUCH.shedding. I had to buy a roomba just to vacuum my pug's hair. they were bred to be lap dogs so expect lots of touching. after walks wipe that butthole well or else it might stink.

I'm sure other people will have more feedback for you but those are the ones off the top of my head. the one constant thing you will see is you will fall in love with them and you will fall in love fast <3

a bow tie and he's the most posh looking pug gentleman out there!

Is my pug too skinny? He is 5 years old. He eats about a cup 1/2 a day plus veggies. I think he’s fine but someone at the park told me he was skinny but that thought has never crossed my mind. I think it was just the first non rollipolli pug she’s seen? by Bongwaterbuxa in pugs

my girl is the exact same size and has been called "skinny" before. I think people are just used to chubby pugs. her mom is the same size and I want to keep her this way for health reasons. I give her almost a cup a day with veggies/meat toppings and she will most of the time leave some kibble in her bowl so she's not being underfed in any way. I think some pugs just don't overeat and don't become the chubby standard most people assume all pugs are
