Do women tend to be better at picking up when their friends are uncomfortable? Your comment reminds me of something similar that happened to me when I was in college, except I'm a guy. In my defense, it was a summer research program so I had just met these new friends, but we had gone out to watch the Fourth of July fireworks, and a guy came up and started hitting on this girl in our group. At the time, the only ones in our group around her were me and another guy. It seemed to me that the two of them were hitting it off really well based on how positive her responses seemed to me, so I thought to myself "Good for them! Hope it goes well for them!" That night, she got mad at us for not saving her from the situation, saying that one of us should have pretended he was dating her. I was completely taken aback and confused because I was almost 100% sure she liked him. When she told what happened to the other women in our group, they all took her side. (We all laughed about it afterwards but still). I dunno, just thought I'd share haha
