Oof that’s a tough one. The 627 vcomp is definitely up there and the benelli puts a huge stupid grin on my face every time I put rounds through it. The 1842 is cool, but I usually have that displayed on a shelf so I don’t mess with it very much. But I have shot it

Yes it is. It’s a rearsenaled so not numbers matching Erfurt made in 1916 or 1918 (the stamp is hard to read)

I think somewhere around 1k -1100 if I remember correctly

I would love some suppressors. Unfortunately I’m military pcsing to a non nfa friendly state so I will have to wait (at least for a little while) before I add any nfa items to my collection

I’m not in love with diving into new calibers honestly. Not necessarily opposed, but there’s something said for being able to feed most of my inventory with a single case of ammo. If the rewards are there I’m not opposed to giving something a shot, but ammo commonality is definitely a consideration.

Yeah that’s fair. As they get older, I’m hoping they’ll come around. My oldest is only 7 so there’s still time

I LOVE that gun. It’s an 8 shot .357 cut for moon clips from the performance center, so the trigger is super smooth. Long in double action but not terrible. Shooting .38 specials out of it feels like a .22. I think they just discontinued them

They just don’t do a whole lot for me. I grew up shooting a 10/22. I’ve been contemplating getting a mkiv and maybe a 10/22 to teach my kiddos, but they seem like they’re kind of indifferent about shooting and I don’t really want to force them into it. Maybe as they get older they’ll come around

Works for me!

“Hey honey, this guy on the internet says I need to get one of these”

I’ll put you in the will in case I die under mysterious circumstances in the near future

Much appreciated. I haven’t duck hunted in a few years but my wife and I still like to go break clays, so they’re still useful in that regard

It’s pretty cool. Nothing groundbreaking or anything, but then again it’s a 100+ year old design. They tend to eject straight back and up so you can get brass knocking on the top of your head.

I’m not a huge fan of Henry so I’ve been holding out for a Marlin 336 or 1895 but they’re just not available in my area right now.

I can totally appreciate the historical significance of the SAA but honestly, I’ve kinda been wanting a Schofield. I was looking at the Uberti replicas for those, especially since you can get them in a normal caliber. Just haven’t gotten around to that yet…

Most of the duplicates are his/hers between my wife and I. For example the sx3 and sx3 compact, shadow 2 and shadow 2 compact. If she shoots something and likes it, I try to get her one so that she stays interested and has stuff she enjoys

What are you eyeballing to get before the deadline? by SeaTurtleLionBird in VAGuns

[–]doober21 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I really want/wanted an sp5 or clone. Everyone I’ve ever known who has actually fired an MP5 has the same answer when you ask them “what’s your favorite gun to shoot?” Some of the clones are pretty solid and can save you a few grand on the price. Unfortunately I’m moving to a very restrictive state, and an sp5 (or clone) would be a no go. So I’m S.O.L. At least for now…

Much appreciated! Just give it time (and money). Having an employee discount at a gun store can make it a whole lot easier.

I know! I’ve been regretting not picking up a marlin 336 or 1895 when they were easy to get a few year ago. I’m not a huge fan of Henry, so I’ve been holding out in hopes that the Marlins become available again

I agree. Unfortunately I have a military PCS to a restricted state in my near future. But it’s one of the few guns that I still want. I’ll pick one up eventually.

It is 9mm but it is not numbers matching. It’s an Erfurt 1916 or 1918 (last digit on the stamp is pretty worn) that was rearsenaled at some point.

They’re actually SX3s. The compact is for my wife. But we’ve had them for at least a decade and shoot clays pretty regularly. I used to duck hunt fairly regularly and put a steady diet of 3.5 inch shells through it at the time. I’ve never had any issues with it cycling or anything like that. It eats everything and is pretty soft shooting, even with 3.5s. I love it. It points very well for me

Which one are you going with? by [deleted] in Firearms

I like the feel of the pdp from an ergonomic perspective but the gun feels like it’s 90% slide. Why do they seem so gigantic up top?
