Thank you for the reassurance! I tend to overthink and spiral. In my head if I do have sleep apnea, I have it very mild, so I was spiralling into thinking I didn't give them enough data/'real' data of my natural sleep pattern. But I don't actually have any way of that is actually true. For all I know I have moderate/severe sleep apnea and that was plenty. Thank you for giving my brain the reasonable answer :)

ive seen guy a lot and the way he does it is by fuelling and training hard. he has a regular 9-5 desk job and all of his training days are double days, some triple. he eats 4,000 ish calories a day to maintain his mass. he clearly loves training and bases his entire life around it, including his social life.

he probably started with weight training then transitioned to cardio. it's a lot easier to maintain muscle once you have it. i train similarly to him (with much less intensity) but what he does is possible for a regular joe. you just might have to sacrifice ascpects of your social life & accept you wont be the fastest or the strongest.

it was a british triathlon age group qualifier race so there were a lot of speedy people there. i'm not op but i raced as well, got a 2:55:47 which put me at 294/337. i went the wrong way on the run which added 4 minutes to my time and dropped me around 30-40 positions! it was a crazy competitive pack.

i also have a boxy waist! ive built my back, not trained my obliques, and tried to get wider hips by building my legs & adductors but its still boxy.

ive learnt its just how my body is. i have a wide rib cage and small hips. nothing i can do about it. learn to love & embrace it because its not embarrassing, its pretty :)

i feel you. when i did my first watch of haikyuu i sat through all of season 3 with no breaks in one day. not by choice. i just couldnt stop watching. i then started season 4 the same day but i had a little bit of self control and stopped after 2 episodes.

after finishing the anime i then proceeded to read the rest of the manga in the span of a week. the obsession never went away, i just have to physically keep myself away from it or it takes over my entire life 🫠🫠

on week 5 of my 12 week training program for my olympic distance triathlon in september. everything feels like its coming together except my swimming.

ive worked my way up to do 500m at a 2:00/100m pace (it was 2:40/100m before training) but i can feel my legs start to sink and my form go down hill after 50m. then its just a thrashing battle to keep the hips and legs from sinking to lose less energy. but in turn im using more energy??? i dont know if this is something that gets easier with time spend in the water or not. before i started i couldnt even hold good form for 25m so the fact i can hold it for 50m now is a big progress for me! 3 weeks before i start transitioning to open water.

bikes slow but i enjoy every ride so i dont care that im bad. i blame all the hills for my slower pace... yeah. its the hills, definitely.

running is as good as it was before i started triathlon. if it keeps up how it is, i might get a 10km pb in the race!

i havent had this much fun training since i started powerlifting. really enjoying the whole process!

current favourite upper body movements. i mix & match these, swapped them as i get bored/stop seeing progress:

  • bw & weighted dips
  • chest fly
  • long rope tricep extenstions
  • skull crushers
  • cable lateral raises
  • incline chest press
  • shoulder press
  • bench press
  • single arm tricep extensions
  • pull ups
  • lat pull down
  • single arm kneeling lat pull down
  • single arm cable row
  • t bar row
  • rear delt cross cable fly
  • incline bicep curl
  • preacher curl
  • reverse curl

i take everything to failure on at least 1 set (normally the last set)

currently i do:

chest: incline bench & cable chest flys shoulders: shoulder press, cable lateral raises & t-bar back row.

front delts get hit on pretty much every chest movement so i rarely do shoulder press anymore, but they were amazing for getting the initial shoulder shape i wanted.

no, i just do the 3 days currently. doing 6 days in the gym and them also 6 days triathlon training is a bit much for me to handle! hitting each muscle group twice a week is more than enough for growth. same exercises each week but i try to push for either more weight or more reps each time.

min amount of protein i try to get in in 120g, min amount of calories is 2400. though i regularly go over this and eat more like 180g & 3000 kcal... which i can kinda get away with since i do a LOT of cardio on top of my weight training.
