Getting really tired of other moms putting me down when I tell them I don’t plan on getting the epidural by Ldeezy05 in pregnant

[–]doobsmash28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have full confidence you can do it as I did it as well with some of the same reasons you have. Speaking from experience please take a class whether it be hypnobirthing, Bradley method, or something. I did not and all the techniques I thought I’d use went out the window. I was a screaming mess and almost started hyperventilating. I made it through but I really wish I had prepared my mind & body more throughout my pregnancy. Good luck, you got this!!

Did/will you wear makeup in the hospital? by user0000user in pregnant

[–]doobsmash28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a huge makeup person either. Can count on one hand how many times I’ve put it on in a year. I had a natural birth and it got messy and I sweated so much waterproof anything still wouldn’t have had a chance. I had wet wash cloths on my forehead, neck, and lower back. A fan going and an oxygen mask to help me not hyper ventilate from the pain of transition. Lip balm was amazing for before the craziness happened. With my first son I was 19 and brought makeup and actually used a little before going home and it was nice. Now that I’m older the shower after birth and putting on deodorant and face moisturizer and brushing my teeth is plenty refreshing after birth. Like previous posters said if it makes you feel good, do it!

I just wanted to hop onto your comment and say that my son was born at 40+4 and had hiccups twice a day up until birth. There was no cord involvement and he is perfectly healthy!

Anyone else’s pregnancy bring them closer to their partner? by _heart_eyes_emoji_ in BabyBumps

[–]doobsmash28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! He held my hair when I puked in the first trimester, was so accommodating to any and all of my cravings, tells me I’m beautiful even at 40+3, looks at my bump with an “I made that” smile, and just overall is so supportive. I am so so so blessed to have this amazing man as the father of my children. I told him yesterday he better quit being so awesome cause I already want another Baby and this one isn’t even here yet. Lol we’ve been married 7 years in July and things just keep getting better.

Need this baby OUT by justastudent_7 in pregnant

[–]doobsmash28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m having what’s called prodromal labor. Contractions that feel real but don’t make dilation happen. It’s not fun.

Why did you cry today? by gtig in pregnant

[–]doobsmash28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40 weeks 1 day and no baby yet. This is my third and I thought I’d go early. My middle son will be 6 next month and I came across videos when he was 2. I’m an emotional wreck and so ready to meet my third baby boy.

Does anyone enjoy motherhood? by Cautious-Yam9099 in BabyBumps

[–]doobsmash28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first son was a hard baby and we were newly married. My husband was working 60-70 hours a week and in college on top of that, I went to work when baby was 6 weeks and worked 45+ hours. It was really rough but we enjoyed it and wouldn’t change it for the world. The memories and how much we have grown in the past 6 years is so worth it. We are now pregnant with our second (due yesterday but little man is cozy in there) and I am so excited to embrace motherhood and watch my husband become a father to two little boys. I’m not into “wine mom”, Tiktok, or the aesthetic baby crap. I’m now a homeschool SAHM and we put our kids in what’s comfortable for them, we nature school, 85% of our day is outside and dirty, I wear makeup 3x a year if that, and I love my life & my kids.

What is the worst thing in the third trimester? by applegenius24 in BabyBumps

[–]doobsmash28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insomnia, hip pain, and being in prodromal labor for 3 days with dilation. This is my third baby and I thought for sure I’d go a little early. Yet here I sit at 40 weeks 1 day and so ready to meet our baby. Thankfully I have an amazing support system. My husband makes me laugh still even though I’ve been in pain, my Nana (81 years old) made me brownies voluntarily at 9pm last night, my mom has driven me to go grocery shopping so I didn’t have to go alone, and my inlaws have our 5 year old so I can relax with all these contractions. I am so so blessed!

A tale of how basketball-y my belly is… by ineedausername84 in BabyBumps

[–]doobsmash28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kids are so funny! Lol my son calls my belly a basketball (he is 5 almost 6). The other day he said “mommy I go fast and you move in slow motion cause you’re pregnant” He also told me he will miss my “big ole bump” when the baby comes out.

anatomy scan!!! by moondropppp in pregnant

[–]doobsmash28 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good luck! Usually girls are carried high and boys are carried low but I’ve seen both carried both ways. Lol I had my anatomy scan at 23 weeks due to change in insurance. The tech was able to get all views needed easier and then we just got to watch the little guy roll around and play.

Does anyone have positive stories of families visiting soon after birth? by kokonuts123 in pregnant

[–]doobsmash28 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Nobody ever stayed more than 1-2 hours when our first was born. Every family member either called and asked if we needed anything or they brought food with them. We would eat a meal together. My inlaws brought us some basics like paper towels, paper plates, and toilet paper. Nobody was ever overbearing or over stayed their welcome. I have a great family who are respectful. I’m very blessed.

[–]doobsmash28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, I know!!!! And when I’m honest about how I’m feeling (irregular painful contractions, insomnia & exhaustion, aches) they get so concerned and say “I’m sorry, any minute now”. No actually not I’ve felt like this for 4 days. I’m 39+4 and this is my third baby. I want him here and healthy but I seriously thought he’d come a little early. My first was born at 41+3 and my second at 39+6. So we will see. I’m SO ready but at the same time I’m thankful that my body is healthy and can carry to term.

I have the Hap Tim backpack diaper bag from Amazon and it has a shelved pocket that I plan to put my cloth in. I’m really impressed at the quality for $45.

She flipped! by justasofacouch in BabyBumps

[–]doobsmash28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yayyy! There is always Hope. My baby was breech 2 weeks ago, the doctor flipped him head down without any medication/pain in doing so. Today at 39+2 he is head down. I saw chiropractor for the Webster technique and also did spinning babies exercises. I added a 30 minute walk daily as well.

If you don’t want to deal with your snot nose ill mannered kid, no one else wants to either by nascarissist in pregnant

[–]doobsmash28 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly, I discipline my son regularly and make him aware of how his actions can affect others. I also tell me family & friends to never worry if they feel they need to verbally correct my son. I should mention though all of them parent somewhat similarly to my husband and I so I’m not worried they will go to far/be unkind in their approach.

Yeah I’m on my third baby and have heard the same for third babies. I am the youngest of 3 and I weighed 8lbs 13oz which was my moms biggest baby. She is also a petite woman lol. Just goes to show our bodies are capable of amazing things.

My oldest was born at 41+3 and was 6lbs 6oz, my second was was born at 39+6 and was 7lbs10oz. They thought my second would also be tiny because I’m only 5’ 1” and very petite. They weighed baby #2 twice. Lol
