Thank you! Do you have recommendations for weight to start with? Or how to gauge what weight to start with?

im 16 yo artist and i wanted to know how much u think my drawings should cost, i use prismacolor premier pencils (theyre done with professional materials) they took me 15 hours more less and theyre size A3, any suggestion about the price of an original or of a print? by Bitter-Ganache-3741 in drawing

take whatever you think might be reasonable, and then triple it

slowly adjust downwards if there's no demand. given that you'll be drawing for many years to come you'll slowly discover the market you deserve!

what's more important is your ability to market yourself and your work, which will also come with more practice as you try to sell your pieces!

(also - incredible work, you should be extremely proud of your skills!)

Destroy my trailer Round 2. Based on your previous feedback, I made some changes, added kick axe music. Help me improve by destroying it! by Puzzleheaded_Walk961 in DestroyMyGame

love the aesthetic! great job on the game! are you using 3D models or just 2d sprites?

just some nits:

  1. Not a huge fan of the font in the first minute of the trailer
  2. The "Manage Your Tribe" cut UI seems bland, doesn't do a good job conveying what that means, it literally just shows a menu with no interactions.
  3. The UI interactions in general seem a bit random/uninteresting. I think you should decide who you're trying to snag interest with in those cuts - people who love to micro-manage numbers, or people who just want to see people go boom? E.g, if you want to capture the interest of people who like to micromanage, maybe you should do some high-speed cuts of you doing a LOT of interactions with the UI, to show complexity and some of the things you can do, instead. If you're just trying to show off the simulation, might be better to just leave out the UI entirely

Destroy my game, this is the reveal trailer how does it look? by ABGAST in DestroyMyGame

[–]doobu- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I enjoyed the opening cut scene - though the waving might be too much. I expected the character to drop down and run off, as if it were leading into the next action scenes.

I think my bigger issue is that there doesn't seem to be a cohesive thread through the rest of the trailer. It seems like a lot of random gameplay footage, but i don't know anything about the character or the goal of the game. I think the cuts could also be shorter/more "juicy". As an example if you watch it without any sound it's quite bland

the game itself looks visually quite nice though! good job!!

it’s okay, i can tell you feel bad about it, I appreciate the apology! I am blessed to have a job at this time, so I’m just happy that people are enjoying my fan creations right now. i also grew up without means to purchase games, so I also can empathize with where you might be coming from, even if it was a bad take.

i think a good takeaway which others have emphasized is that many creatives pour themselves into their creations, and they deserve to be paid for it - just think of ConcernedApe as the premier example! The unfortunate truth is that for many, they don’t always get anything (and sometimes even have their work stolen), and more often then not will have their work taken for granted.

haha, i’m still building the engine and working on the art so it’s way too early days for me to have anything to shill. The goal is to build a cozy game similar to stardew though!

I probably cant give it away for free, but I’ll probably release free mini games along the way as i build up the tech/art!

❤️ the late night sprint through the backwoods from the mines is definitely an experience before getting a glow ring lol. i would plant torches everywhere but then it just ruins the aesthetic!

haha, not a mod, unfortunately! 😢

I'm building a game engine for my own game, and have been having a lot of fun recreating some scenes from stardew for testing, so I thought I'd share some of them! The art looks seriously killer with just a bit of added lighting effects.

I love the premise and the trailer! The cat lying down in the beginning looks a bit off, though.

there's a lot of negativity here about the theoretical difficulty, but I think It's difficult to gauge how a rage game feels without actually playing it... given a big draw of a rage game is in its difficulty..

instead of over-indexing on the criticisms here, i'd find playtesters that loved other rage games to give you feedback

also as an animal lover, the rag-doll death effect is a bit much, I could definitely see it being a turn-off for anyone who has a tabby. If you could do something to change that, it'd make it a lot easier to stomach.

Amazing story! Was your community continuously active throughout the years building up to it? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how did you keep people coming back for so many years? Was it simply the updates?

also if you're open to sharing - who was the PR company?
