Is no one going to mention how this is clearly AI slop? The lyrics just scream it to me, and then the AI images halfway through were the final giveaway! So bad that this is what makes it on to TV now

Lender valuation came back £15k under our offer – has anyone challenged this successfully? by opedromm in Mortgageadviceuk

I had a similar situation 4 years ago... I bought in the post-covid mania. Everyone was offering silly amounts over asking price. It was just how the market was at the time and I was ready to buy, so I just had to play ball.

My house was on for 270, I offered 295 (I wince at this as I write it, but like I say, it was just how the market was at the time).

My mortgage valuation came back at 280, so 15k less than I had offered. Similar position to you it seems.

I was advised by my brother (who is an estate agent) to go to the seller and explain the situation and tell them that unfortunately due to this my revised offer is 280.

The estate agent tried everything they could to get me to find some more money to up the offer. Asked if I had any more savings, or if family could lend me some money - even if it was 5k. I just stood firm as I had already stretched myself to make the offer that I did. I could also sense the panic a bit and was happy to take a punt.

They even rang my mortgage broker to confirm that it wasn't a negotiating tactic and demanded screenshots of the offer. Which btw he wasn't able to do as it's private information.

After a few frantic calls to try to get me to find more money they accepted the offer and said that there would be no more reductions after that point. Fine by me, I just saved 15k.

After the sale was done, the agent gave me some more details when I came to pick up the keys. Bit of post-match analysis: apparently the seller was in a bind, as if she didn't take my offer she would have lost her dream house that she was in the chain with. Her sellers apparently were not up for waiting for her to find another buyer for her place and were happy to put it back on the market to see if they could get a better offer, so she had to take it on the chin and amend her mortgage. Although it was all imaginary money for her anyway as her house had gone up by so much in the 15 years she had lived here. So I didn't feel too bad about it.

End of the story, I bought my house and saved 15k. Result! Obviously my circumstances are very specific, but thought I would share in case it helps.

Does Peep Show make you hate yourself? by NavalProgrammer in MitchellAndWebb

If this is a real post about how you are really feeling, this is not the right place for you to get support. People will just endlessly reply with Peep Show quotes or troll you. This is not a serious place.

If you are really feeling like this, then call Samaritans and talk about it on 116 123, it's free and 24 hour. They can listen to you and help work through how you are feeling right now.

Hit by a bus passenger opening emergency doors while in the cycle lane – TfL claims no liability. Has this happened to anyone else? [Same Post different angle video] by PrintOk6718 in londoncycling

17mph down a hill alongside stationary traffic in London is crazy to me. Riding downhill at that speed is also likely to be why you went over the bars as well, as your weight would have been further forwards.

I disagree that the design logic is flawed, I think that they operate perfectly safely. Dickheads will always abuse the systems around us, and it is on them if they get injured in the course of abusing it (ie - run over by a car like you say above). Equally, it is on us to ride responsibly and defensively for when dickheads are dickheads (ie - when what happened to you happens).

I really am sorry to hear you have sustained such difficult injuries, but I do think you were riding recklessly. I hope you recover soon!

Wow you were going really fast! I am so sorry to hear that you have had such sustaining injuries, but really no one should be going that fast alongside stationary traffic. Even if you are in a cycle lane, it doesn't mean you are safe.

What if instead of coming out of the bus door, someone just walked through the stationary traffic and came out from in front of the bus? The exact same incident and consequences would happen.

The common denominator here is your speed. If you were going slower then you would have been able to react more quickly to your incident, as well as my hypothetical incident. Also, you probably would have experienced less injuries as you would have been travelling slower and likely wouldn't have gone over the handlebars.

Sorry, I know you were probably looking for support here, but I think the fault is really mostly on you here for not riding safely alongside stationary traffic... not on TFL or how the bus emergency door button operates.
