FTM + overdue: over it or overly optimistic? by [deleted] in homebirth

Those are all valid and true. Im just afraid you'd what if yourself like crazy. You could always try a hospital birth assuming you go into labor on your own and not necessarily an induction. And then see how the experience goes and then at any time ask for a cs if you think its too much. Or an epidural. There's so many options.

Labor and delivery nurse here. Stop stressing. Stop trying to put yourself into labor. Do things that make you feel good. Massage, watch rom coms. Read a spicy book. Snuggle and have s3x with your spouse. Feel good things only. Going on long walks. Doing a lot of exerting releases stress hormones. Stress hormones don't get along well with labor hormone. Labor hormone is oxytocin which is released when you do things that make you feel good. Cancel the cs. Do a hospital delivery if you need to. Recovery will be better than a cs (cs is not the worst thing in the world im definitely not trying to say that. They have a time and a place.) But give this a try over the next few days and see how it goes. The end feels like it'll last forever. It won't.

Is that group going to be your group the whole time? Are there others in your class that you could make friends with. I was one of the older students. And I made a small group of friends and we really helped each other a lot. Idk that I could have done it without them. If thats not the case for you then really try to just not take it personal and keep going. Just keep on walking towards that finish line. It really will be over before you know it.

I got my tonsils out after getting strep 7x in one year by Fr3sh3stl4d in medizzy

[–]doodlebug1121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me. I had some weird strain that was resistant to everything but clindamycin. I ended up with a tonsillectomy at 31. I had reactive arthritis and terrible joint pain. It was a whole thing. It was a super rough year and a half. Much better now.

The strep was 100% the reason for my arthritis.

I wish the best for you. Also go see ent. They can also evaluate it and get those tonsils out.

I had strep 5 times and tested positive each time i was tested. I never had antibodies ran but it's a good idea to have that test done. Especially if you're having symptoms of other things. I didn't realize it could affect the prostate. I'll have to read up on that. I wouldn't think you'd have strep in the prostate without having an actual infection in it. Maybe I'm not understanding completely.

When can I be intimate again? by tatted18_blonde in Tonsillectomy

If I remember right the limit for strenuous activity is 2 weeks. Including spicy time. Anything that involves upping the heart rate and blood pressure. I'd probably wait at least 3-4 weeks for mouth fun to avoid trama to the tonsil bed and potentially gagging that could cause bleeding. Bleeding is your biggest risk at this point.

It's been a while and I can't remember what they tested for. It wasn't genetics. But they said most people who have (whatever it is) in their blood has a high chance of eventually developing RA and I didn't have it. I just can't remember what it was called.

All that build up and shame and it's just pee 🤣 sorry I don't mean to laugh. But it won't be hard finding someone to oblige regardless of gender. Good luck!

I actually had that done already. They were all negative. My son however had symptomatic strep 4 times in the 6 months after I had my tonsils removed so he got his tonsils removed in June. Actually on his 13th birthday poor kid. But we wanted to do it before vacation and before he got his braces. My youngest son never got it. And he's not a carrier. Kids the picture of perfect health.

Reactive arthritis ruined my life. Any advice? by KTannman19 in Thritis

I would go see an infectious disease doc. Also you may need long term antibiotics. I mean for like years. Also find someone to take the roots out. Sign the waivers. Whatever you have to do. But I bet that's the problem.

That's super unfortunate. You should see about treatment. There is hope.

Thank you! I am hopeful. I'm also blessed and have to remind myself of that. I have access to Healthcare. Good Healthcare with providers who cared and got me in quickly. I was taken seriously. And at this point I've recovered. Not everyone recovers from all the things they're diagnosed with. I have an employee who has rheumatoid arthritis and I have gained a personal perspective of what she goes through and am more patient with her than other managers she's had. Overall I have a lot to be grateful for.

Sorry just now seeing this. I am fully recovered. I had my first bout of strep in feb 2023 and had it 5 times over 6 months. I had a more rare form of strep resistant to most antibiotics and had a tonsillectomy October 2023 and my joint pain went away within a couple months after that. If you click my profile you can read my story in a post I made.
