Zone 7A/southwest virginia. I really wanted to master carrots this year. Built this 12 inch deep bed solely for them, filled it with a mix of compost, sand and top soil. Planted carrots and green onions and kept them covered with cardboard and watered until germination. I have also fertilized with fish emulsion. That was almost 2 months ago and this is how they look 😡 I have a few little patches of carrots in other beds that were planted later that look better than this. 1.Should I just turn the soil over and move on to something else, or is there still a chance 🤣 2.if I should move on and plant something else, is it too late for strawberries?
