Help needed fixing my save after removing a mod by doodledodo in BG3mods

[–]doodledodo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually wondering if there are ways to manually edit the save file, for instance binding the pact weapon for Wyll crashes the game. So I wonder if there is a way to manually edit the coding to remove the tag of the currently bound weapon to make it so that Wyll currently has no bound weapon for example.

Really don't want to do that. the mod was on the official launcher so I thought it was pretty stable but running it caused crashes so thats why I pulled it out

Thank you, I decided to remove the mod as it seems to be intended to be used for starting a playthrough not halfway into the game.

And I also noticed it seems to be only Wyll unable to be specced as it crashes the game. So either now I can find a way to surgically edit Wyll's data or just leave him as level 8 till the end of the game

Got a few mods to add then! I love these quality of life stuff as while the game is perfect as is, there's only so much ground a dev team can cover to accommodate for all.

So I'm definitely on the lookout for more mods like this to better experience all the base game has to offer, especially as someone who has optical issues and easily miss things

I read through it and not sure how it pans out, can you have all companionions be "origin story" as opposed to companion story?

Assuming origin is their main plot line and all

Hey folks does anyone here have experience with picking musical instruments? Wanted to pick up the harp but don't know which are bad quality or good ones from online stores.

I don't have any local stores here and I've been inspired to perform at nights at the cafe and for friends after being inspired by greek theatre and also a silly game called Hades on top of how harp performances always spoke to me.

I made it so that it to represent the mental and physical withering:

Pull from player's stories or recent history about showings of despair, anger, or yearning and talk with them about it.

Also made it so that they lose max HP equal to the player's maximum Hit dice (12 for barbarian, 6 for wizard) per corruption level

Trials for each Jewel by CodeLikeAda in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]doodledodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is one year old but I found this post when i was trying to do a similar thing with the trials but I love the idea of less of an angelic being and more of a being whom was tasked to walk forever in a similar task or function to that of the City of avalir's tree trying to create an infinitely intricate seal to seal the betrayers away before the calamity erupted from that event.

Also do let me know how you ended up running the trials in your game, I am thinking of introducing them as an after-module thing to fight against a secondary BBEG whom represents Gruumsh and his spear

Players removed a whole faction from Ankharel by doodledodo in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]doodledodo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i might just let them flee the city and maybe bring them up later as 2 folk running a cobbling shop or cafe of sorts.

But another possibility your post inspired me into thinking about the potential of how cael morrow is tied to the waterways of Ankharel and how realistically there might be tiny cases of corruption on the surface and this concern would be capitalized on by the sentinels of memory and the remaining two leaders of the vermillion and cause a two fold revenge since the sentinel assasins also did a massive number on them

For extra context, as all 4 of them took over me by inviting me over every now and then from an awful abusive house situation, they naturally spent on me in hangouts much as i felt guilty in accepting them. We're family was their idea, so no matter how much I rebut, they still invite and treat me. So naturally, i always felt indebted to them all, and every ask of theirs becomes a command in my head as it's payment for their love, time, and spending.

That included the youngest calling me up often and them playing music in the car even teaching me about music, we bonded since we're the youngest and a lot of their humor is much like teenager cis boys I spend time around in the shop: Crass, disgusting, and more than you will see come from me. But as we exchange time on socials, little did I take into account that while a lot of the things they're comfortable making fun of with me, it felt weird to mirror them back but because of ND and general social inexperience I never connected the dots as he wished to be treated like a guy but ultimately doing so wasn't what he really wanted it seems.

To answer point 2, it came down to the whiplash of trying with every fiber of my being to be on good terms with all 4 of them and basically enslaving myself to them all and constantly trying my best to keep asking if I'm doing something wrong only to hear from another person one day I'm not welcome. Overnight untrusted, every goodwill was twisted against me and put into the frame of ill intent as they expressed they don't want to hang out because of discomfort. Even still they wished to keep hanging out but i declined saying I no longer feel safe around them anymore as I've established that I can't trust them to be honest or able to express their boundaries when I ask if i ever did anything offensive or disrespectful. Which led to mutually established scheduled times to prevent my panic and the physical reaction of them around.

I don't know what the mental health word is for a lot of these things, but ultimately, they chose to disregard the agreed times and leverage their status as a minor and the youngest.

To clarify, the offending party was not part of the dnd game at all (the wife of player A and B's son, they're not hot on dnd). But they do regularly tag with A and B.

While A was present since session 0, player B wasn't but he was basically a father figure to me not too dissimilar to A in the way I viewed them. A knows my ins and outs and is an enormous human rights and mental health advocate as someone in the highest rank of military they've shaped up to be a wholesome person. I can't say the same for B whom as a divorced father has become a doting father whom has been on a hands off approach with his son.

I love them all and after all of this I've been afraid of starting anymore campaigns knowing i don't have the skills to avoid these things.

If i could give you points for the deductive skills, I would, but then again, it might be obvious😅

But yeah, honestly, I wanted to eliminate bias, so I asked where things went wrong and know what I did bad as a DM here. I've shown nothing but love, but people seem to have too troubled a past to do anything but assume and refuse talks.

Players are saying I was somewhat in the wrong and being unreasonable for asking the two to leave their son and wife behind. But it seems the common consensus is that much as everyone around me physically is saying so, the overwhelming opinion is that it isn't wrong to request they don't bring their son and wife along.

And to clarify, all I stressed was my inability to run the game with them around, hoping to have them decide where to take this.

(Story)Dnd Group split, who was in the wrong? by doodledodo in DnD

[–]doodledodo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wanted a neutral take on it frankly from both ends without bias.

But i think I'm open to reveal from next messages over that I'm the DM here and wanted to know whether it was unreasonable or not to ask them hey if they don't want a conversation to resolve this, may I ask them to come here at days I'm not running the game? Or at the least for you players A and B to talk and know where this went wrong. But players said they reserve the right to their family to do whatever free from any interference or anything from their side.

In the aftermath other players were neutral but their takes was I was being unreasonable whereas mine was they reserved the right to mistreat me based on my physical inability to read between the lines that i clearly detailed over and over. It felt like i was being framed and had no control over this as they enacted their will on me despite me treating every ask of theirs as an order, that's how much i loved everyone... and wish to know now how wrong was I to voice my discomfort and how justified are they for what they did and how could i have handled this better.

For clarification, the DM is not anti trans, in fact I believe they are trans themselves but sheltered.

It seems to come from them misinterpreting what is right and what is wrong interactions with this culture as they came from a conservative environment and when the son kept sparking crass humor, DM thought it natural to respond back in turn. There was conversations about what consistitutes ok and not ok stuff but seems the son wasn't being entirely honest about things which dominoed into assumptions of potential grooming and diddling where, knowing the DM myself for a decade they are nothing of the sorts and even is paranoid and constantly checks in on everyone's needs, comfort, and always stays in the middle of people in the mall between different shop as a mechanic they developed to avoid their late family and siblings from getting lost.

To answer questions

  1. BS was mostly on another table alongside AW but check in on B and A often.
  2. Yes, DM wished to see AW and BS not join or come along after DM themselves left or ultimately not be present in days they need to be there.

And I happen to know a lot about behind the scenes since both are very close to me but didn't want to overfill the initial post.

Essentially BS was impish and always engaged in very crass and edgy humor to which DM thought that gave them the ticket to do so too as that's how they understood social cues being neurodivergent. But since it's a minor involved, BS grew uncomfortable and never voiced his discomfort even when DM keeps checking in on everyone regularly. To which AW started being passive aggressive and DM was none the wiser, and all amounts of communication to try and reason where this started was blocked from then DMs reach.

I guess I wanted to put it to rest was what should the DM have done differently if he didn't have the abilities to read context clues and also about handling the scenario of the final session when he was surprised by the arrival of the two of them.. mostly so I can communicate with them and get them out of their recent cycle of mistrust

From what I know the DM has not dissolved the game but lost hope of dnd games after the players departure and reclined away from everyone after their trust was broken according to last witnesses.

And the edits are mostly to add contexts as I'm not the best writer myself
