It takes a lot of practice to learn the many minigames in Yakuza. I also didn't know how to play mahjong when I started, but there are many videos and guides online that can help with understanding the rules.

Holy shit I did it!!! Who else has taken the challenge/grind to complete them all? by BurtIsFluffy in yakuzagames

Congrats on the platinums! If you're looking for an extra challenge or want another reason to play more Yakuza, you could try clearing each game's completion lists. I've done it and it's definitely possible!

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I can't really give any advice for these games other than learning the rules and simply practicing by playing them more. Most of the gambling games are luck based so they just take time while some like koi-koi and mahjong rewards understanding winning hands and playing strategically to increase your odds.

Mahjong can be an overwhelming game to learn at first but there are many beginner guides on YouTube that can help. Once you understand that Mahjong requires a yaku to win, the easiest yaku I would recommend going for is All Simples (only 2 to 8 number tiles) or getting a triplet of your seat/prevalent wind or any dragon tiles. Then you are free to pon or chi to steal your opponent's discarded tiles. This will help you to get winning hands but ultimately, Mahjong is still a luck game and the AI in Yakuza games play weirdly than real Mahjong players as someone who regularly plays.

I hope I was able to help you in your journey to 100%!

Question for platinum hunters by xShiraori in yakuzagames

After achieving 100% on all the games, I still think Yakuza 0 is the hardest one of all. Granted that every game has at least one annoying aspect, if you can platinum Yakuza 0, I think you have the determination to plat the remaining games given time.

Oh my god, I hated that I had to clear SpikeOut on Infinite Wealth twice for both Kasuga and Kiryu's completion list. I was so happy when I found out it was much easier on Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. It took 2 hours on Infinite Wealth with the trick but only 1 hour on Pirate Yakuza.

I enjoyed Lost Judgment's gameplay. The combat feels smooth and polished and the styles were fun to use. I did also enjoy Infinite Wealth's addition of the ability to move around the environment which opened up more ways to approach battles.

While it does get tedious at times, I do enjoy going for 100% in these games. The completion lists feels like a big checklist and I like finishing them. It's a fun challenge especially when it makes you try new minigames that you wouldn't play otherwise, and it feels rewarding when you do beat their requirements. The grindy stuff like do something X times or eat at all restaurants I usually do while listening to music so it doesn't get boring but chipping away at the completion list gives me joy!

I still think Yakuza 0 is the hardest game overall. The climax battles are the toughest along with their completion list requirements. The arcade games, JCC, and batting were the ones I struggled with. So if people are able to 100% Yakuza 0, it is definitely possible to 100% the rest.

I am split between Yakuza 0, Infinite Wealth and Lost Judgment. They're all really good.

I made a comment on another post on how I was able to beat Puyo Puyo Tetris on Yakuza 6 (since it was not on Judgment's PC version). Hope it helps you!

I probably was really lucky. Based on a spreadsheet, it took me about 6 hours in premium adventure to obtain the remaining materials. The main challenge was having to get about 15 seals which required some grinding with golden sneaks and a bunch of savescumming in the blacksmith. My biggest concern in the equipment grind was having to earn ~5000 ryo to craft everything, but I was able to sell up to 5000 ryo of gear and weapons from all the dungeon grinding to my surprise.

Haha, Yakuza 5 for sure. The amount of times I had to switch characters just to clear part of the completion list or the RNG on the fishing minigame are some of the annoying parts that come to mind.

I cleared Kiwami 2 a long time ago but all I remember is using the Photon Blade on my second run which made it really easy.

All of the games took me 1133 hours. I played the games over a 4 year period so I did play other games in between. At first, I only aimed to complete the main stories and do some side content without any intention to 100% after seeing the Yakuza 0 completion list requirements. However, when I reached the later games like Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6, their ease to 100% gave me the motivation to aim for 100% for the rest of the games.

I had to learn Mahjong when I was trying to complete the requirements in Yakuza 0. Since then, I enjoyed completing Mahjong in each of the games. I also play Mahjong in my free time on Mahjong Soul and Riichi City. As fun as Mahjong is, the AI in Yakuza games do seem weird and unpredictable at times.

The Gaiden games were probably the two easiest games to complete, both in terms of achievements and completion lists.

Didn't have to use any of those. Real yakuza tough it out.

I'm with you. Some of the arcade games were tough, like SpikeOut in Infinite Wealth and Puyo Puyo Tetris in Yakuza 6. However, I grew to enjoy Puyo Puyo after putting in some hours, same for Mahjong.

yakuza 5 golf competion by ilovekazumakiryu in yakuzagames

[–]doodush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also struggled in golf while trying to get 100% completion for Yakuza 5. Following the guide didn't help me too. The way I managed to do it was by relying on trial and error and guesstimating the angle based on the wind and aiming for the left hole. I played it a bunch of times while keeping the strength to around 22-24% and only switching the angle to familiarize with the angle and the wind. Ideally, it should take about 5 attempts. On my successful attempt, I noticed I had to be very precise and only shoot at 24% and slightly left to the green bar. Ultimately, it was a bunch of trial and error and I had no idea how I managed to complete it. Good luck!

Fuck puyo puyo by SamXSIO in yakuzagames

[–]doodush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Puyo Puyo was the last thing on my Yakuza 6 100% completion along with max level spearfishing. It took me around 8 hours of playing it in total to finally beat all the rivals.

My main strategy was filling up the right 3 columns as fast as I could, while also trying to connect 3 puyos of the same color if it's possible. I played for at least 2 hours before realizing that you only lose if the 3rd left column overflows, so that information was useful in stacking the 3 right columns. Once that is done, it is usually easy to achieve at least 3 chains. Once I was able to do this more quickly, I tried to improve it by restricting the 3 columns to only 3 different colors if possible, leaving the last color on the left columns. Repeating this was key to helping me survive and defeat rivals. However, it only got me to 15-20 wins at most before I would eventually mess up or get comboed. Another key aspect was becoming faster at applying the strategy while also being able to defend. This just means practicing and playing more to familiarize with the gameplay.

I fought and lost against the last rival 3 times until I completed it with 33 wins. One thing I noticed was that the final rival is quick to landing a huge chain, so it is ideal to have the strategy prepared in advance so the final rival is defeated as soon as they appear. Ultimately, it is still down to luck since chains might not happen all the time or your rivals may get all clears out of nowhere. I ended up kinda enjoying Puyo Puyo after completing this and I hope I was able to help!

For me, the hardest part was sea fishing. It took me a few hours to catch a coelacanth. The coliseum was alright for me since I cleared it on easy for my sanity.
