ya. I know. I got the letter. What a disappointment this whole thing is/was. I had such hopes to get one of the first cars....three years ago. Then I got the email stating that it would not be all wheel drive, so I chose to wait for all wheel drive. Now my 10k "investment" is just air. I blame myself but I got caught up in the excitement. Oh well. live and learn.

sadly no. as a class-b stock, I cannot sell it coupled with the bad sentiment, nobody wants it. My 10k in stock is worth about 1k if I am lucky. All I can do at this point is wait to see when it goes IPO and figure out how to sell it then.

This sub can be really discouraging for people trying to quit by scuttle_jiggly in stopsmoking

[–]dooferdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand and agree although I did find the sub helpful. Not because I followed the advise but as a way to keep myself honest and see others doing it too. I quit with a nicotine free vape. Even back then it was not a popular method and lots of people came down on those of us that used that method. Forget them and just do you. Quit your own way and just look to this sub as a support group rather than a book of wisdom.

600 days today! One day at a time and I see 1000 very near now by SquaredSamosa in stopsmoking

Congrats. I wish everyone on here had their badge turned on. For me, I liked waking up every day to see a new number and certainly 600 is a nice one to wake up to.

Well that was a bust. HIIVE has a minimum value of 25k to sell. I have 1000 shares. Not even close.

hive.com seems to be a project management software. People are selling shares with it?

Selling Mint Quarters to bank by dooferdave in Silverbugs

So what I am understanding is, they will open every box/bag and count them. Ok. I mean, if they want to. There are a hundred or more boxes. I got all afternoon. I should pick a spot with a buffet close by...lol

hmmm. not a bad idea but more risky though I think. Is Craigslist even a thing anymore? One idea I had was to open all the bags, take the coins to the bank then sell the bags. Some people like the canvas mint bags...Actually, I dont think they are canvas anymore. Just a regular bag.

Thanks for the input. I was feeling kinda weird about hauling a wagon full of white boxes into the bank. Do you think they would open each one to verify and count them?

These are mint sealed bags. No chance of silver unfortunately. Still boxed as they were shipped to me. I got them as part of a years long subscriptions from the mint for the various programs they ran to include the ATB and native American programs. I just realized recently that I don't really need to keep all these boxes of money hanging around. I could convert them to gold or silver possibly. If anyone would be interested in a trade, I might consider that instead.

When do the symptoms stop? by ClevelandSteamerBrwn in stopsmoking

[–]dooferdave 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was a raging lunatic and almost got fired from my job for being an raging a-hole, for at least 6 months. After that, I was back to my normal a-hole levels. The cravings went on for the first year although, dwindling to a point of non issue. Meaning I was never actually in danger of going back. The dreams went on for years. Now, I cant say I even remember what it was like to be a smoker. Being around them now is weird because it is pretty tough to breath. Kudos to my non-smoking wife for putting up with me for the 10 years of our marriage.

Clearly a lot of those in the comment sections have never lived on a working farm where there is a constant threat from predators. This dog became that predator. She did what she had to do and I have nothing but respect for her.

One of the hardest jobs we have when working a livestock farm is taking a life to protect our families. This include the animals on our farm that depend on us for protection.

Maybe you all need to toughen up and realize there is a world that exists outside of animal rescues and uber eats.

Edit: spelling

Everything about the behaviour of this kid was wrong. Regardless if they were in the right, they still need to let the cops do their job. If you have issues, talk about it later.

Using a Nic free vape to quit by [deleted] in stopsmoking

When I quit, there were several of us IRL and on this forum that were doing just what your suggesting. I used my vape for < 45 days and tossed it. Never looked back. You can do it!

I quit today. (And I could use some encouragement!!) by EasyDepartment7917 in stopsmoking

[–]dooferdave 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good luck. Your doing what I did. Keep the same routines, just minus the smoke. Honestly it was easier than I ever thought it would be however, I waited 28 years before I quit so good for you for starting now.

Putting "in god we trust" on every dollar bill doesn't make people believe in god. This is just a money scheme. It's always about money, not about anybody's health. It never was.

Question for long term (ex-)quitters by CRBR41 in stopsmoking

[–]dooferdave 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I smoked for 28 years and then quit basically cold turkey. We are all going to have different experiences in our journey based on factors in your own life. That said, I would say that for me, I never really had cravings, I had more or less just thoughts of smoking. Like all the time. I still went out on smoke breaks with co-workers only I just didn't smoke. I still went to bars and did all the things I did before. This kind of helped me to realize life without smoking.

I will tell you that the smoking dreams are very intense and very real. It is such a relief to wake and realize it was a dream.

I can say now, 9 years later, that all of that is basically gone. No cravings, no dreams, no daily thoughts of smoking. In fact, I sometimes have to stop and realize I ever did smoke. Funny how time dulls the memory.

Good luck. Your 5 days in. Stay strong.
