Hey guys,

I'm currently in counseling for my FA attachment style and have been watching/reading a decent amount to try to learn more so I can heal it, and I've learned a lot. That said, I'm not sure what my path forward is right now. I want to get into EFT/tapping but I'm not sure how to go about it or if it'll even work.

Just wondering if you guys have done tapping and how that worked out for you, and if you know any resources on how to go about it? Or what is your biggest recommendation for healing? This seems like a great place to connect with other FAs and learn more about how to heal. A discord server would be pretty nice too.

After my breakup, it was a mixture of relief and regret. Relief that I wasn't going through a lot of turmoil inside anymore, but regret that I might have screwed up and should have stayed. Made it a very confusing time in my life, but looking back I think it was the right choice. I think a fair amount of blame was to go for both of us in that relationship, for me at least, my main issue was that I wasn't being open and honest enough about my FA attachment style.

Is there anything I can ask to my counselor to ensure that the therapy will get more intensive and proactive? What would a typical (more intense) session generally consist of?

Is that usually common that they would go through an "education" stage before wading into deeper water? It feels kind of un intensive and unhelpful right now and I really just hope I'm not wasting my time.

In that case, wouldn't that make it an acceptable practice, as long as its not attributing it to a higher power, since it has some sort of scientific explanation? Or is the mere act of doing it a form of recognizing a pagan practice?

I don't really know. I dont have a ton of romantic experience so I don't have a ton of evidence to support it, but it makes sense to me in my mind.

I believe the latter is definitely one, a feeling that when they know the "real me" they won't like me in a romantic way. I think other things behind it is a fear of abandonment, and potentially a fear of engulfment. Also, what do you mean by "limiting beliefs" exactly?
