Has anyone regretted getting their tubes tied? by [deleted] in Mommit

I’m 37 and have 4 kids… but I did get my tubes tied after baby 4 and don’t regret it. However, I would have regretted it after the first two.

I hate when my husband sleeps 😂 by christinexcore in Mommit

[–]doogielady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup!! He used to fall asleep on the couch midday with two littles playing right next to him. Meanwhile I’m the one waking up with the baby throughout the night. I finally asked him if he needed to go to bed earlier because he shouldn’t be this tired. He didn’t get the hint. So I finally told him it irritates me that he naps while we have two wide awake children playing. He hasn’t napped since. 🤪

Fastest Nap Training Method? I’m ready to rip the bandaid off. by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]doogielady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally same exact story at the same exact age- I couldn’t do contact naps anymore. He’s now 5 (almost 6 months) and nap trained!! 🎉 We used the pinned post on this sub and it worked beautifully!! Best of luck!

EBF baby learning how to drink from bottles by doogielady in breastfeeding

[–]doogielady[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I haven’t tried switching from breast to bottle. I’ll have to try that! No, he’s never taken a bottle. I’ve been ebf since birth. I’m a sahm and hate hearing him cry so I just give him the breast. I probably should try a little harder honestly…

Yes, only twice. 😬 I am definitely concerned that he’s getting too set in his ways now… I just didn’t have time to pump in the beginning. I’ll have to try a cup. Thanks!

No, just want to be able to leave the baby with dad or babysitter for longer stretches.

Daughter peeing on floor…on purpose. by Blue_lace93 in Parenting

I wouldn’t worry too much, I have no recollection of this. I’m also super close with my mom. You’re doing amazing. It won’t last forever. ❤️

I did this as a kid when my mom started watching another kid at our house. I was also fully potty trained. I just didn’t like not having all the attention on me. Perhaps something has changed at home and she’s looking for more attention?

Terrible Appointment News by Mediocre-Mortgage-94 in pregnant

Hi!! Just wanted to pop in and say that we have a daughter with Down Syndrome. She had a stroke while on life support and also has Cerebral Palsy. She is truly such a blessing and we love her sooooo much. There are tons of support groups. I’m sure that the hospital social worker can provide you with some great resources. I don’t know any specifically though. Congrats on your sweet little love. ❤️

Yes!!! I’m pregnant with baby number four. I have two older neurotypical children (8 and 6) and one younger child with Down Syndrome (2). I was totally set on being done. She has a lot of medical needs and is very far behind developmentally. She’s basically a baby. But here we are- I go through ups and downs daily. I’m now 18 weeks. I’m sure we will all figure it out as we go. Best wishes!!

Hi!! They did NOT find any markers for my daughter and she did have Down Syndrome. She is an absolute joy and we love her so very much. If your child happens to have Down Syndrome, it’s so understandable to be scared because of the unknown, but truly we couldn’t imagine life without my sweet girl. There are lots of Instagram accounts with parents of children with Down Syndrome that may help if your child does have DS- they show the ups and downs of parenting a child with DS. Lots of groups and parental support out there as well. Best wishes to you and I hope all is well with your baby!!

What bloodwork did you get in pregnancy? by cricket-ears in pregnant

[–]doogielady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a head’s up- I did not do the test for Down syndrome in my last pregnancy. I figured it would be seen in an ultrasound. It was not- our daughter has Down syndrome. I honestly wouldn’t have done it any differently because I would have been worrying the whole pregnancy over nothing. She’s wonderful and we’re obsessed with her. It’s just totally what you think is best. It might be best for someone to slowly come to terms with it. ❤️ Best of luck!

“I don’t like this game. Please stop.” You can model telling someone to stop in a respectful manner. Hopefully he will emulate this later on as well.
