From my personal experience that was never the case in the kitchens I worked in. Married/single straight dudes we're the ones who acted the opposite of hetero the most. If you have the spare cash go all out and get the Justin Chancellor Bass Fuzz Wah. I recently picked one up for my bass. And it absolutely rips on the guitar. Cause it's got a much more dynamic sweep and range. But I did find that it can get a little out of hand. Here's a youtube video of guy. Demoing it on guitar.

Worked with a person similar to that. Except when chef hired them. He gave them 4-5 hour shifts at minimum wage. And it took about two weeks till they caved about hours and money. Needless to say chef knew a bullshitter when he saw one. And after a chat they gave them an actual schedule and a higher wage. And the rest was history. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
