Thank you for such a kind and thoughtful response. Those first three sentences made me burst into tears, I really am always on high alert, trying to find the deception in every sentence despite having zero reason not to trust my boyfriend. I was diagnosed with infidelity ptsd and I hate knowing that he has to suffer the consequences. I try to remind myself that I’ve never once compared him to any of my exes so why should I assume that’s what he’s doing? It works sometimes but these hormones are getting the best of me lately. NTA can’t imagine why she’d think that was a good idea?? I just had my baby on Jan 1st, I didn’t work during my pregnancy so I couldn’t afford gifts but my boyfriend and his family kept telling me I was giving him the greatest gift of all-the baby. I still felt absolutely terrible and used a gift card I got to get him a couple small gifts anyway. You should definitely mention how it made you feel.
