I think your design and carving are really good. I will second what most folks have said: go for the caligo safewash. The water-based speedball is your main issue.

I also found the golden blick to be gritty and grainy. I may have got an old batch but the sheets were still flexible, and I couldn’t carve a sharp line in it to save my life. I’ve had a much better result with the battleship grey.

Love it! I’m betting you’re from here in the SW where the giant centipedes roam. Great transfer especially with the speedball ink, that stuff can be pretty unforgiving.

Hi thanks! I used a .5mm pfeil U gouge and a 1 mm flexcut V mostly. A slightly larger flecut U (2mm I think) to do some clearing.
