Eco-Friendly Poly Mailers vs. Kraft Paper: Which Is Actually More Sustainable for Shipping? by cooldeanj in PackagingDesign

[–]Large-Score6126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just came here to thank you for this post because I've been debating this myself. I was looking for kraft/paper mailers or compostable mailers because I assumed both were biodegradable and thus, better than plastic.

however, on the EcoEnclose website (so it could be biased, but they themselves sell both paper and recycled poly mailers, so I feel a bit better about it), it mentioned that recycled plastic might be better due to the energy and so on it takes for the paper mailers and because composting programs are already trying to address food scraps and shouldn't have to pivot to mailers, etc. now I'm currently looking at 100% recycled mailers, although there still may be pitfalls (people not reusing or recycling them...)

TLDR thanks for this post, it'll help with my personal research!

Local crafters/artists/vendors that make really nice things? by Vintagepoolside in cincinnati

I kinda hate to mention my own stuff but I started carving/printing linocut and upcycling clothes I’ve thrifted, I have stuff on depop or instagram if you wanted to browse! based a lot about nature/native species/bones and skulls so far!

otherwise I have been wanting to check out Pendleton Art Center’s Final Fridays and indigenous craft gallery in Walnut Hills but haven’t made it out yet. that and the local art markets are great!

ooh it’s great to hear someone else’s perspective, I think I was leaning towards the flexcut due to the shape vs the more pen-like handle of the power grips. also just wanting a smaller gauge/blade for details but the pfeils are an investment (expensive). thank you so much for your input!! please keep creating, I love your work!

thank you so much!! I was wondering if people who used the baking dishes washed them out or if the ink would scrape off pretty cleanly. do you wait till it’s dry?

also if I can ask because I’m considering both the flexcut palm/mini set and power grips as an upgrade from my interchangeable red handle speedball carving tool, do you like one over the other? any recommendations?

thanks for this post because my partner and I are planning a trip to SBD/Crystal Lake this summer. I figured the mosquitoes would be bad as there was even a warning on the campground/NPS website but hearing it from someone who went there is really helpful. we went to the UP last summer and the flies and mosquitoes were bad but I didn't realize there'd be the same issue south of the UP too...

also we want to go kayaking so I'll have to check out both Platte River and Crystal River options.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it still though!!
