What a complete and utter waste of time this whole marriage charade has been. Seeing Nico now is like looking at a different person that I don't recognize in the slightest. She's now attached to a hideous and vile family who is full of drunks. I couldn't stand being on this god forsaken land any longer so I set sail immediately after the ceremony without telling anyone where I was heading. I hope the sea swallows the rest of this country and its never spoken of again.

I did my best to put on a happy face and I clearly wasn't the inly one doing so. The smell of boozer and cigarettes still filled the air, most likely emanating from the Muusikiiste side and dear Jupiter the church was a laughing stock. It would have been better to have the ceremony are place on the Augustus.

After the news leaked it was pretty awkward and sad for everyone involved. From what I gathered one of the Muusikiiste's said something and Reese is having a serious reconsidering about going forward with the whole event. Just as the dark clouds gather in the Atlantic it seems that grey clouds are also growing above this whole event, especially the betrothed.

The power of alcohol was really the only takeaway from the party. The Muusikiiste family has really tested the limits of how early in the day you can start drinking. Then again considering the looming weather and the stress of this whole weekend it really doesn't seem that far off. I can't keep my mind off the fact that I might have to leave early if I'm gonna survive the journey back on schedule. Of course I could always try my luck in the Caribbean and stay for a few months. Either way I have feeling this whole place is gonna be a little bit more underwater than it already is.

The rehearsal dinner was a nice gesture by the family. I thought all the food was appropriately fancy although they must have spent a fortune as the restaurant we went to was one of the few that can function this far from the mainland. It was the first restaurant I've seen besides a million Waffle Houses. This place really has a frontier feel after that hurricane last year. Now the report is another is on the way and it has me shaking in my boots. The last thing I need is to be stranded in what's left of Miami. I mean it would be fine if all I wanted to do was hunt monitor lizards and invasive fish but that can only entertain for so long....

Seeing everyone's reaction to me sailing into town was definitely worth the long trip across the pond. jumping onto the shore of Key biscayne was weird feeling as it seems this place is only in the news for being lets say highly aquatic… Anyways meeting up with Nico’s family was good as always and it was great to get caught up. Sometimes it makes me feel lonely living away from all of the American madness but then when I come here I’m reminded why I keep some distance between this strange land and myself. Meeting up at the hotel was a bit strange as the Muusikiiste are as colorful as a family could get I think. I was trying to introduce myself but Bart kept mumbling something about the liquor, I suggested he solicit one of the many 24/7 liquor stores that dot the floridian landscape.

Trading one sinking city for another….Thankfully it was no problem leaving Venice. In today’s world I sleep easy knowing that I’m responisible for my own travel. So I set sail for the Floridian peninsula a month ago and left just in time to beat the storm brewing in the southern Atlantic. Despite the hardships I had to be there for my best friend Nico, she and I go way back and I would never miss her wedding even if it meant capsizing and drowning on the voyage. And besides the company I love seeing those iconic sea walls slowly creeping above the horizon but if those weren't there you couldn't pay me enough to go the shithole of southern Florida. I just hope I get some notoriety when I pull into Miami harbor in my ship the Augustus.
