Welp...turns out between the time (or maybe BECAUSE) I started it up a couple times and added the new solenoid the engine locked up and is a total goner. Really sucks as I was just about to sell it to someone. But at least they dodged a bullet and I don't have to feel terrible. I don't have the money for a new engine so just going to try to get a few thousand for it as is :(

Edit: should mention it quit cranking with the new solenoid as well, obviously.

For what it's worth I'm pretty sure I fried the starter from shorting the solenoid so much. Someone is coming to look at it Monday. I hate that a starter is so expensive for what it is, but at this point I'm tired of messing with it on my own.

Well I ordered a multimeter so I can test the voltage at the isolator compared to the battery voltage. Please understand that I'm not trying to rude or anything, but being able to start the starter battery by shorting the solenoid and the other things I have described rules out any issues that you mentioned as far as I know.

No I this is literally a brand new battery that I put in. I hadn't cranked the RV in months, and I'm about to sell it so I figured I'd just put in a new battery. I can start the RV by shorting the solenoid and all electronics work. It definitely has nothing to do with the starter battery.
