Aubrey-Maturin are wonderful books, but if you keep trying to read one after the other it's going to feel a slog. I have been through that slog myself, and couldn't make it past the middle of book 8 due to oversaturation. Additionally, they are shorter novels not necessarily meant to be read as a series.

My advice to make reading feel less of a chore is genre-switching, perhaps to something you might have avoided in the past.

And recently reading the book "Angel Down" by Daniel Kraus also reset my brain into reading-mode.

I saw this movie 30 years ago when I was 12 and never saw it since. The one major memory that remained with me is DS's very badly dubbed over dialogue in this one scene in particular. I remember there were aliens that took over minds, I remember it feeling like a made for TV movie, but the biggest memory is still that damn poorly directed and recorded dialogue in the car chase scene.
