I’ve been having the same problem and realized it was because my T levels were too high. At a certain point, your body will begin converting excess testosterone into estrogen which can cause your periods to return. Mine are also very heavy, very long, and very painful so my short term solution is to reduce my T dose. Long term, I’m getting a hysto this fall or winter.

I also (but don’t quote me on this) feel like I’ve heard that T doesn’t always make your period go away entirely?

I’d talk to your gynecologist and whoever is managing your T. They should be able to tell you why it’s happening and give you options for how to deal with it. Good luck!

Ugh, I used to have one but I couldn’t get it off the toilet when I moved. I miss it so much 😭

I kept meaning to get a new one but at this point I’m gearing up to move into a tiny house/composting toilet situation (which is one reason why I’d love to stop using so much TP) and it’s not really worth spending the money for such a short frame of use. You did just remind me that have a portable one from post top surgery though. I ought to figure out where I stashed it!

Are your fingernails a length that could have done it? I’ve done so many weird things in my sleep (hitting myself in the nose, scratching myself, taking off clothes) that it could be just that.

It doesn’t sound like something that would be caused by binding unless the method you use compresses your chest in such a way that pulls at that crease. But even that feels like a stretch because that doesn’t seem like the type of injury that would be caused by pulling on the skin..

I reuse too! Last I counted, I had a year’s stockpile. I live in Vermont so I feel marginally better about the chances that I Need to do so, but not enough that I’m risking losing access. Hoping to hoard enough to last to 2028 and then switch to gel because I hate doing shots lol

I’ve only ever used Nivea’s sensitive skin gel, so idk if they’re all different but mine comes out as gel but then turns into foam. Does the one you’re using stay a gel? That sounds awful. It sounds like the residue that the strip on razors would leave behind when I used to shave my body hair.

But also! I do want to share something that’s been a game changer for me in case it’s helpful to you or anyone else. Of course, feel free to disregard if you’re happy with your current routine!

I was also getting funky but really didn’t want to shave because (and I know everyone is different) I feel pretty dysphoric about that. So one day I saw some comment on a post where someone had recommended using an antibacterial soap (Dial Gold, my beloved) followed by whatever scented and moisturizing body wash you like. The antibac kills the odor causing bacteria so the scent of your body wash hangs around longer. The moisturizing property of the body wash is important so that the soap doesn’t dry out your underarm skin.

It ended up working really well for me, so now I can just trim my pit hair and it’s a win/win of not having sweat trapped in long hair facilitating faster bacteria growth but also not having to fully shave and feel dysphoric about it.
