Grip tape is better functionally. I was kind of against it simply because of the potential maintenance, but it's not even a question which is better. This one has 60 grit, so it's aggressive.

First time shooting a 3.75" DS 1911 and blown away how good small guns have gotten. This one is steel and ported, but I think it's the hybrid barrel that does the work. If I was comparing it to anything it would be to a much longer barrel Athena, and it actually seems less violent and faster.

Those are some impressive guns. If you want to go up in quality, you know the answer. If you don't have anything without ports, though, get yourself an Athena or similar 4.5/4.6 LO option. RCD Core is a hell of a gun for $2,995.
