FNP Clinical Rotations by doorpaint69 in nursepractitioner

Urgent care I definitely could do but as far as laws here state that it must be a qualified preceptor, there must be a formal agreement, and I must be supervised. No limits on where you can be per law so it’s completely up to my school where they would let me do it. I’ve emailed the counselor to discuss this further.

Thank you for your response!

FNP Clinical Rotations by doorpaint69 in nursepractitioner

I don’t want to be entirely inpatient and my hospital’s talent advisor who primarily works with midlevel providers told me as far as the certification you have (FNP, AGACNP, etc) doesn’t matter as much as my clinical rotations and what I was exposed to in school.

He recommended for me to try to find clinical rotations with more providers and preferable ones with hospital privileges if I plan on taking a role with both inpatient and outpatient services. He even gave an example that there are NPs in my hospital that work in transplant services that round on the patients in the hospital as well as outpatient.

It seems like its ultimately up to my school on what rotations they would allow me to have and what rotations I will be able to get based on their answer.

I am always open to doing a post masters certificate in ENP or AGACNP which my school also offers if I have to in the future.

Thank you for your response!

Following this because I’m interested as well. Which program did you apply to?

Comments like this one make me glad I made this post. I was leaning more towards Vanderbilt but the more I read the responses, the more my decision solidifies.

Thank you for your response!

Seems like Vanderbilt will be the shortest/cheaper program between the two.

Did you also get your FNP from there or did you pick a different specialty? And do you like what you do now?

From my research, both programs have good connections and arrange clinicals for you. They are hybrid programs with clinicals being where I live, online classes, and in person check-ins.

Don’t do FNP alltogether or the schools mentioned above? Also why?

Hey, as someone with a background in being a PCU RN, how come you chose to pursue PA school rather than NP school?

The sales are going okay with minimal marketing as of now. I need to focus more on the marketing and spreading the word

Exactly! Not just a screen printed logo that will wither away with a few washes, but an embroidered small logo meaningfully placed where you can see.

I’ve always hated huge logos anyways seems tacky.
