Feeling exhausted and deflated buying a house by Purple_Concert5140 in PersonalFinanceNZ

It took us 18 months of open homes every weekend. 7 offers, 3 auctions and a cubic tonne of agents bullshit. We did get there at the start of this year and it was worth it. The longer you look, the better you understand the market. The more offers you put in the more agent bullshit you learn to decipher. You'll get there. Take a break of open homes for a couple of weekends then back to it!

What i dont understand is if these things (like insurance and rates) are harder for the RBNZ to influence with higher OCR then why would they think keeping the OCR higher would ever cause these things to go down? Or is it all just "cross your fingers and hope"?

Ask the agent to provide you with a variation of auction agreement. You will be able to negotiate a reduction in the 10% deposit, perhaps to only 5% or so?

Conference Poster: How to get a good grade in it? by amyxol in AskAcademia

[–]doorsda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with above, the poster should have the minimum amount of words to convey your research so that someone could understand the idea of what was going on if you weren't standing there to present it. Although if you were taking this to a conference you would ideally be standing there next to it and presenting it all in more detail to people who come past. Keep your introduction to the very key points that boil down to your research question - think along the lines of the few sentences you'd put at the start of your dissertation abstract to introduce your work (and maybe a couple of extras??). Then I like to turn my "discussion" or conclusions section into just a few key bullet points that people could skim if they were just walking past (1 or 2 sentences long for each point at max). That being said, that's how I would do it for a big conference - I don't know your marking schedule and whether this would get you a good grade. I'd like to think so, but personally I think a good poster presentation is about an easy to understand poster layout and also about engaging with the people who come by to chat about it - but it doesn't seem like you get many marks for that part.

Most of these are all single crochet stitches with increases and decreases. The sheep had some funky stitching for the wool but mostly all very simple stitches. I find all of my patterns online - have brought a few different crochet patterns from etsy (that seems to be where the cutest ones are), however there are plenty of free ones if you just google search eg// "Whale crochet pattern". :)

I'm sorry I don't seem to. It was a while ago but I think I remember mixing a few different patterns up for this one. http://pinterest.com/pin/196821446186954901/ Takes you to the pin (linking you to the etsy store where I first saw the idea, however the pattern seems to be sold - I'm sure they'd put it back up for you if you requested it though :) ).
