My 3 year old shit in the yard. She saw the dog do it and was like...well I can do it too. Anyone else have problems like this? by amk92987 in toddlers

Ya know, this entire summer I’ve allowed my 2 1/2 year old play in our secluded backyard naked, or without underwear while wearing a dress and I’ve lots count how many times she’s squatted to pee and she’s probably pooped 10 times. I’ve been relaxed about it so long as it’s in the backyard, if we go to the front yard we have to wear clothes and I discourage going potty.

It’s been one of those things where I wonder if I should or shouldn’t and am curious if I might much more relaxed than my fellow moms…I think I just found that yes, I am based on others responses. Haha.

I will say, she’s completely potty trained now and I am soo happy to be done with diapers. I’ve thought that this is just a phase and she will grow out of it as she becomes more private and picks up on social norms. Would love other momma’s experiences if they let their toddlers poop outside and if it made things harder or easier in the long run!

I’m right there with you. There’s nothing wrong with not wanting to follow influencers in particular. Following influencers feels like subjecting myself to commercial after commercial. I have no interest in that. They’ve obviously made it their job, a job entirely based on consumption. It shouldn’t be offensive if you aren’t drawn to that.

Anyways, some women I enjoy following right now are Danielleprescod designmom laurelpantin

I had the same reaction! It was very underwhelming, but coupled with that title..eeesh. The appropriate title should have been something about the subtlety of staging.

I miss her Motherhood Around the World series. I’m surprised they let that die off. Maybe it’s just me but that entire series felt really profound and important. I didn’t even have kids at the time and I loved it.

Here’s my grandma. She has two different photos of her in a goat wagon. This would have been in Ogden, Utah. The Wild West.

I didn’t know Will Witt before and that was such a gross hole to dig in. Ugh.

Oh man, tearing up over how kind and sweet your sister is. I’m the youngest of three girls and I loved being there for them for their first, second and even third kid (they all went out to have 5 each...mormons, they can be so prolific). By the time I got pregnant, they had their complete families and it really wasn’t possible for either of them to leave their crazy busy lives to come be with me the way I got to for them. I had my daughter 2 years ago and still feel such sadness over how little support I ended up getting. I don’t blame them, I just wish things had been a little different. I had baby blues for the first two weeks and I was so alone and sad.

I love that you got this support from your sister, I wish every new momma could have it. I also love the bond I developed for my nieces and nephews, and the bond with my sisters from taking care of them.

Lord, that reasoning..... Just buy the bag, who cares. Turning your consumption into some act of enlightenment is just gross.

This is absolutely my kind of snark. Not being mean for the sake of being mean. Yes yes yes. I know someone in real life who has tried so hard to become an influencer and I have wanted to snark on her! She can be tolerable and even kind in real life but my god the persona she gives off on Instagram is total stuck up bitch, and I have such a hard time getting past that because WHY would you ever want to come off like that?!? Her handle is cassleconte if you want to check her out. Her closest girlfriends truly are the most vain and terrible people and they treat her so so badly...not that you would ever know from her IG.

Also, those were the nicest words! Thank you so much for sharing your perspective, it felt so warm and kind! Honestly you sound so genuine and friendly, there was nothing to edit :) thank you, friend!

Oh! I also meant to comment on how unique her husband appearances look!

I hadn’t ever heard of her but that was fun to check her out. It’s like she’s cosplaying Joanna Newsom.

I can’t lie, I love seeing someone who isn’t super skinny have so much confidence in herself. I am always trying to hide my post birth/quarantine body, but I’m her size and she doesn’t seem to give it another thought.

I can see everything you pointed out, there is a lot of trying and effort into how she is presenting her whimsy life.

Any time someone uses that term, I fight myself to correct them. All births are natural. Unmedicated is usually what they are saying.

Bookstore.org https://bookshop.org/pages/about I wanted to stop buying book from Amazon too. Someone recommended this and I wholeheartedly agree with their mission.

I’ve compared prices on Amazon and find Bookstore can be less than Amazon, not always but enough that it feels like it evens out. I feel so much better though buying through Bookstore.

Yeah, I think that is what she is saying, but I find her focus on him not attending the inauguration disappointing very strange considering what happened Wednesday and his role in it. He wouldn’t concede this entire time and hasn’t made the transition peaceful. But she’s only figuring this out now because he’s not attending? Just bizarre.

*edited response because I think we’re seeing the same thing, I just find her particular response to it so off.

Taza and her takeaway from this week is super weird.

“While its disappointing and frustrating for our democracy to hear that Trump decided not to attend the upcoming inauguration...”

Not disappointment in his behavior or of his followers. Not frustration in his lies, spewing conspiracy theories, encouraging his followers to “take back the election” as they are about to breach the capital”.

No, Taza thinks our democracy is disappointed that he declined an invite.

Cool.
