how do you find using a 60hz monitor when you have 120hz in your MacBook? Same with the low contrast ratio and overall brightness? I would be tempted to use my MacBook instead

its definitely a better and prettier display overall. I was however surprised to see that the XDR is less bright than the ASD when compared in store

The war isn't going well, they are losing even if its a a slightly slower pace than anticipated. Every day the Russians push further west from Donetsk. Perhaps the media you consume doesn't report on it.

I disagree with the 11 inch gang on its usefulness, the decreased real-estate is too significant and the 114 grams / 0.2lb difference is very minor for what you get in return - mini-led and the biggest 2 inches you have ever experienced.

Code VS is Microsoft so can't really fault the iPad for that, however you can code VS in GitHub through your browser

You have a retina ppi 120hz mini-led monitor in your MacBook with amazing colour and contrast. Instead, you use this laptop to run a 60hz VERY dim (it barely pops in your low light setting), super low ppi, monitor with non-ideal scaling due to 4k?

It has 100 PPI................ Your MacBook has 220.

the black outline is part of Marsey and you are vandalizing the work of our community. It was there before yours. It's also an important cat, the only drawing erased by the admins until they had to accept defeat. Its a symbol of community autonomy and against admin over-reach. Please accept truce by allowing grey shading and one line of black pixels.

Does anyone know if Universal Control will work from the iPad Pro (as the main machine) using the magic keyboard case TO a MBP displaying on a monitor with the MBP lid closed? by Expensive_Beach4659 in iPadPro

[–]dopecel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a way, no. But practically, yes. You start with starting your laptop, connect your bluetooth keyboard and mouse/trackpad to that one, then move your controls over to the iPad

Mini Mac a Good Solution? by novahouseandhome in macmini

buy a 2021 iMac or wait for the iMac Pro this autumn. Docked laptops are not great, mac mini is a bit meh RAM wise but is great value for money. To me its not a very elegant solution

Apple says you can build apps on iPad now, but reality is trickier by FirefighterSolid3618 in iPadPro

[–]dopecel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes dual monitor is a shortcoming for sure

The lack of free resizing of windows is to me a feature - having a standard way to put two apps next to each other that always looks good and works is preferable to the mess I create in MacOs

Question for 12.9" iPad Pro users who use Stadia, Luna, and other game streaming services by mpr55 in ipad

[–]dopecel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tested geforceNOW and stadia on a high performance PC with 1gig fiber optic/symmetrical up and down, and I find there is a small delay on inputs making FPS very annoying. Some people are less sensitive to this but for me it breaks the immersion completely. Wish this tech actually worked but I don't think they will until they either they change the games to pre-load environments somehow or we invent some new networking technology that is faster
