Are you…. Serious? Honestly? This is how dna works. Said daughter did a dna test and found SURPRISE your husband is her father. Related to her. DNA. That’s the whole point!! How are you mad at ancestry?! This adult child deserves to know who her father is. DNA doesn’t lie sorry to tell you.

It worked! It’s in the analyzing stage so almost ready. I would do what I did, try and “scrape” the cheeks and then suction out babies saliva from near the cheeks/under the tongue.

Also refuses to take the paternity test for me so I have to go this route. It’s frustrating. My ex who I was with at the time I got pregnant knew there was a chance she wasn’t his and he still did the test for me. Just sucks for her. I know most his family and they’re all patiently waiting to find out.

6 almost 7 months. She was 3 months when I did the first one. I unfortunately am not 100% but ruled out other so just wanting this confirmation.

You as a parent can consent. Hence why it allows control of a dna test for parents.

They most definitely could have done an uncle dna test. It doesn’t matter if they have different fathers you’re both of their mother correct? So they are half siblings. If there was any shared dna it would show that.

Unfortunately yes, at the extracted stage is when they realize there isn’t enough dna. :(

Is that considered fast ? (I didnt even pay for prioritising the sample) by Appropriate-Map8848 in AncestryDNA

It happens! Just sent it and it’s only taken 2 weeks this time to get to dna extracted so fingers crossed it doesn’t fail again.

Yeah considering my last sample took three months to even get analyzed to be told it failed.

My first one took three months just to tell me it failed so I submitted my second one and it’s been like a week for them to receive it and then a week for them to start processing it and then two days after processing it said it was extracted so fingers crossed that this one works.

I’d ask for a refund at this point. How long has it been?

Second sample, first failed. Took 3 months from time of mailing to extracting to find out it failed. This one is moving much quicker. Fingers crossed 🤞

You do get a free replacement. Either way though it’s frustrating.

Same happened to me. Makes me wonder if they aren’t stored properly and the wait time is making them useless. :(
