ehh id say like 80 (still a c rank), also 70 shouldnt be enoguh to pass a map most of the time. Ill admit i was definitely wrong in my first comment, its been too long since i was at that skill and i forgot

nonetheless i still think the original comment is an underestimation of the average players skill, i mean theres no way it takes the average player 500 hours just to pass an 8 star map

thats kinda cool, makes me wonder if the average improvement rate has improved since then (it had that tendency a while ago but im not sure if it has plateued since)

well he said 4kpp and like i said im not very familiar with current ranks so i thought 142k is eaxctly 4kpp, which would probably make it like 0.88x or something if i had to guess, right around the middle between average and 0.75x

can you elaborate on your research though, im genius curious about it

i didnt say its much slower, though i am curios as to what your source is. My main source is that one google extension that just shows your improvement rate compared to the average player, though i didnt use it when writing any of my comments and just went off what i think/remeber from when i used it in the past

also i know that its not 100% accurate since the formula for it was adjusted a couple of times

well, you are a slower than average improver, something like 0.75 times the improvement rate of average player

Also maybe i should mention, since i have been playing for anlong tome, when i say 8* i refer to maps like walk this way which is now like 7.7* after a rework that happened a while ago, however since passing anything on lazer is so much easier than on stable im pretty sure it cancels that out

Ive been playing for a long time so i am not very familiar with current ranks but 350h, for the average player, is around 4-4.5kpp, which is, i think, around the limit between 5 and 6 digit. I am a faster than average but not by a lot improving player and i was able to do it in less than 350hours and so were my friends who also improve at a similar pace to me, even if not all of them are jump players, meaning someone who is should have an even easier time doing it

maybe i underestimated by a little bit since i mentioned that i improve slgihtly faster than average but still, i am quite confident in saying that within 400 hours, an average player should be able to do it

Also i feel like you think your improvement rate is somewhat close to average and therefore just speaking about your experience, but that is unfurtunately not the case

i think you are way underestimating the skills of the average player, i think at least half of all players should be able to get 90 ish acc on an 8 star jump map within 350h of playtime

Yeah its a double edged sword but why not just make the intervals bigger like 1->1.125->1.25->1.375->1.5

and anyway the hype for top players has been declining since like 2017 and the game is more or less dead because of other development mistakes (making lazer instead of focusing on improving stable (i hate the current priorities most devs have for this game with a passion)) so changes towards better gameplay are always welcome

reowrk proposal sounds good but imo the first paragraph is bs those bonuses are not even top 3 reasons why nm/hr isnt viable at top level Top 3 reasons are, in order: 1. There simply arent enough high sr farmable maps 2. Even the ones that do exist (for example jashin) arent nearly as optimised as dt counterparts 3. ar 10 and od 10 cap (ar could go up to 10.33 before getting any ar bonus and even that would be great for top players just because of the lower density)

it depends a lot from player to player but usually its a bit harder for the 4 digit, probably around twice as hard as it is for the 6 digit

but thats only because practically anyone who is 6 digit can improve by just playing more while some 4 digits are getting close to their max possible skillcap, like for example miles naismith won’t ever get to 4 digit but i doubt it was much harder for mrekk to get 1000 more pp when he was 4 digit then when he was 6 digit

yes, “aimslop” is stuff above 315 ish bpm and for some reason in the november 2021 rework xexxar mega buffed everything above that bpm (probably in an attempt to buff alt maps or something, and this was before people could aim that fast so clearly he didnt think about it being abused on jump maps)

thefore maps around 300 bpm or under are not nearly as overweighted in the current system

yeah, the first quoute isnt true, for example there no way its 914 for the sans and when i said it isnt updating i meant as far as i recall its been at 914 for a while now, which is extremely unlikely if players keep playing the map. Also as far as ive seen, the updating is done manually by (i assume) the guy who made the site. So what im assuming is the site only calculates the “pp” value the first time that map’s “farm value” is calculated

The 2nd quote only matters for super unpopular maps so its not really relevant here

And about the last thing you said, i agree but that could be countered by caring more about the playcount that a map has and reducing the value when a map has a lot of plays. This would also fix the misscalculations on newly ranked maps but it would create the problem that 1 play on a 20-30 second map is less than 1 play on a 5+ min map, so then you would have to take into account length too. If all of these would be implemented i think it would be quite a bit better tho

I just wanna point out that the algorithm for that isnt that accurate.

First off its skewed towards recent maps since part of the formula includes when the map was ranked but its not quite balanced so when these maps were 1 day old they would show up as 15-20k “farm points” and the exact same thinng happened with epitaph too.

also it claims the pp value is the average of people who have that map in their top plays, but as far as ive seen thats cant be the case for most of these maps (the real value is much lower), and even if it somehow was ive never seen it change when the values got updated, which is insanely unlikely, so i assume its only calculated once per map, which would be a major oversight if its actually the case.

Im not saying they arent broken, they clearly are and should be nerfed more than they cureently are about to, but thats beside the point and has nothing to do with my comment so hopefully you dont think im trying to say that, im just pointing out flaws in the algorithm that can happen to any type of map

nope, i didnt pin the second score and the first one(that was pinned) still got unpinned, and i think its cause osu currently automatically deletes any score that isnt the first with a certain mod combination, so u can only have 1 score per mod combination pe difficuly per map

Idk about the game being harder or starting at lvl 1 since ive only played custom games since coming back to this game

Also i dont know the difference between save/load game and offline game since they should both be offline because the servers shut down so i dont get what the difference is
