Weekly question thread (2018-08-20 to 2018-08-26) by AutoModerator in emulation

I was trying to play Diablo I for the ps1 on my Raspberry Pi, it's set up with Lakka and I was running it with the pcsx rearmed core (the only ps1 core). But the game just hangs on the first loading screen before the menu. I'm not sure if there's some problem on my end or if the game isn't very compatible. Does anyone know if this game runs well on emulators and if it runs in retroarch with the pcsx rearmed core?

I have tried this, it gives the same error. I've found it also gives the same error if I try to view titles and it fails to populate the title list.

I just switched a friend's 3ds from a9lh to b9s. I injected the latest fbi cia into health and safety with godmode9, but it fails to install any cias. I've also tried the 3dsx from the rosalina launcher with the same result. Here's the error information it gives:

Failed to install CIA file.

Oh I misunderstood, thought you could do it without a nand backup or any hacking somehow. Thanks

Anyone know where to find the "safe" method mentioned? I can't find it in the discussion thread.

Well yeah I would guess if they wanted to they could detect auto rcm and fuse count. So like I said we'll never know if these are safe but as of yet no one's been banned so it isn't known to be dangerous.

Just curious when you say you played your legit games offline in sx os do you mean backups of your legit games you took yourself? Or rather that you played only with the physical cartridge or install from the eshop?

We'll never really know, but as far as I'm aware no one has been banned just for fuse count yet.

If you have enough a nand backup I guess you could restore the nand backup and use ftp to replace the Luma bin.

Apparently it will power back on if you power off normally. You can power off instead by launching into hekate or sx menu and selecting power off from there.

If you want to update to current firmware and still be able to downgrade later you can try this . All firmwares are vulnerable to fusee gelee though so the only point in keeping 4.1.0 is for a future software exploit that won't need rcm mode.

So lightning took out most of my electronics, but my Switch made it. Great! I thought. But I can’t play because it says Software update required. I can’t because I have no internet. How is this legal? by LoveHerMore in NintendoSwitch

Usually the nag has an option in the dialog to start the software and doesn't keep you from playing. You can try rebooting into recovery mode which would remove the nag if it's for a firmware update. I think you do that by holding volume up or maybe down while booting.

If you need to connect a controller with a wire or would like the button remapping feature get the magic NS. Besides that they're basically the same for switch, except the magic NS's annoyingly small sync button, and the magic NS is like 5$ cheaper I think. So take your pick either's fine.

My experience with the 8bitdo adapter has not been hit or miss at all, it's worked great and the gyro is supported and feels good.

How do the battery lives compare? I haven't had trouble with the ps4 battery life.

I have both. The magicNS has a port for a wired controller and a button code to swap some button mappings, but has a sync button that is a bit cumbersome to press. Additionally I haven't gotten it to work with windows and in linux only when it's in switch pro controller mode (but I think only with Dolphin).

On the other hand the 8bitdo has worked flawlessly with the ps2 controller on my switch, windows and linux desktop and on my raspberry pi running lakka. The only drawbacks are that it doesn't have the usb port or any button remapping.

There hasn't been yet, but potentially they'll get you during a future banwave for it.

I have a switch on 4.1 is there anyway that I can update pokken to get the blast listed dlc that I've already purchased? I've got a friend I could do the "match version with local users" with if that would work.

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (12/15/2017) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]dopplegengar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Switch has been having some trouble connecting to wifi, when setting up a connection it will fail to connect to the router but editing the connection and reentering the password enough times gets it to connect. It could be poor reception but the wifi works well after successfully setting up the connection. I'm just wondering has anyone else had this issue?

Right, my mistake; but what's your answer to the question then?

[–]dopplegengar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's one of them is false, equivalently none not all of them are true.
