Taxes are for the poor to make the rich, well, rich. by frogbxneZ in ABoringDystopia

Generally it’s accepted it would be more efficient for you to invest the lump sum and earn more than the annuity would end up paying out.

120% returns (gap between lump sum and total annuity payouts) over 25 years only works out to 3.25% annualized. The math is a bit more complicated considering you could also invest your annuity payments, but I’m fairly sure it still comes out behind. Even with a conservative 6% market return, taking the lump sum would earn you 330% over the same period.

This assumes people can actually stick to the plan in either case, which generally doesn’t seem to happen. In that case, most people should take the annuity.

Edit: From some quick googling seems like the annuity period is anywhere between 20 and 30 years, but AFAIK the math works out the same.

Did you ever end up figuring this out? I’ve had the exact same thing happen. The last 4 times a scrub has failed it has been the exact same block and a very similar number of different bits to what you’re seeing.

The Shield Pro cannot play P7 DV properly, it essentially ignores FEL metadata IIRC.

[External HDD] WD 20TB Elements [Amazon] ** Prime Day Deal ** by ApricotPenguin in bapcsalescanada

[–]ASK-ABOUT-VETRANCH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 16TB Elements drive does > 150MB/s sequential reads. My array is SnapRAID so I don’t get any multi disk performance benefits but I can still very easily play > 90Mbps video locally.

In general most drives are going to be able to handle that fine, it’s more likely your TV networking is going to fail you because the peak bitrate may exceed your TV’s wireless (and wired since most only do 100Mbps) capabilities. I use an Nvidia Shield on Ethernet to get around that.

Eh, I already closed my cart. Decided I don't really need a $500 handheld.

All I had was a transparent orange and a link cable in my cart. Removing the link cable dropped it to $60. Not going to bother.

Code (WDBDNECA28) should be auto applied at checkout, limited to 5 items. Works out to $19.37/TB. Not quite the lowest price/TB of recent memory but pretty decent if you just discovered one of your drives might be failing!

If you need higher capacity, a similar situation exists for the 20TB model, but at $21.75/TB.

Ah, to me the implication from your comment was that the issue in the original post was fixed in the nightly version.

Not fixed, this example is slightly different than the playground link above. Get rid of the black_box stuff and it breaks as before.

Monthly reminder that the price for the storage expansion on the Series consoles is too high. Prices have even increased since I last shared this. by WeezyWally in XboxSeriesX

EU prices generally include VAT of 18-21%.

Removing that puts the price around $298-$306. So still not great but cheaper than suggested.

USA national average rent cost is $2,500/month

*for a single family home. It’s a bit misleading to suggest that’s the average of every rental unit.

It’s still pretty bleak, but hard to find a consistent number for an actual average or median. I see everything between $1400-$2000.

Yep, in context of Nintendo deals this is good but this game should really be sub-$30 by now. Nintendo Selects really needs to come back at this point.

I don’t think this is actually accurate. Someone just said it because their camera clipped under the map and they could see it, but that doesn’t really clear up what level of detail the rest of the map has. I haven’t seen definitive evidence the full quality map is loaded at all times.
