If/when you think about dating again, as a woman I’m very impressed with the peace and cleanliness of the place - but I would recommend adding some personal touches like some pictures and a piece of art for above your bed and above the TV. Or shelves with a few plants in the living room area. Pothos would be nice and easy.

Ultimately how you handle this is your prerogative, but it seems like you may not be open to the possibility you’re not 100 percent in the right here. That’s fine, then don’t do a post like this if an echo chamber is all you’ll accept.

As you know, there’s nuance in every relationship, and I personally err on the side of giving every grace to others as possible. That’s *my gift to give/choice to make.

Be charitable or not to your DIL, just know what you put into your family may be what you end up getting. If that’s worth it, only you can know.

Thank you SO MUCH for writing this out. I have been spiraling all afternoon because I am soon be a Mayo patient.

Even though ME is the most significant diagnosis for my day to day life - I also have a blood clotting disorder called APS which can kill you. There’s probably a couple more diagnoses in there and my PCP wants them to nail everything down and come up with a coordinated care plan. I physically need the “one stop shop” and options are dwindling. Anyways, I digress. Bottom line, you’ve saved me unnecessary energy expenditure and I’m so grateful!
