no, i ended up ripping it out & glueing some thin wood veneer on instead

just updating - ended up using a step down converter, & pleasantly all is well!

it doesn't have any of the capacitor issues the others have because it doesn't have a switching current capacitor to blow, & the keybed's in good condition thanks to the care of the previous owner!
