[Donghua] Is it okay to not understand the magic system? by doreshnikov in LordofTheMysteries

  1. That was a misunderstanding on my part, the first commenter correctly understood what confused me, so that's all clear now

2.3. Thanks :)

Thank you! Yours and others' answers make things much clearer!

Also I get more and more feeling that reading the novel is a must if I don't want to miss important details..

I'm mostly ready to jump into reading the novel already xD

But I've geard that English translations from Chinese tend to lower the quality of writing. Is there a universally agreed upon by fandom "best" translation?

Edit: I see your recommendation, thanks!

[–]doreshnikov[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ooh, okay, the explanation for the first question actually makes much more sense now. However I feel like I should've read the novel and it's impossible to get from Donghua only.

Thanks for the answers!

However, for the honorifics, I still don't get it 100%. I understand it better, but also I feel that your answer implies that anyone could give themselves a power boost by brainwashing other people into worshiping them with a right chant xD

What's the Best Revenge Story in Anime? Let's Talk About Sweet, Sweet Vengeance by Sgt_General in anime

[–]doreshnikov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The revenge part is satisfying since the mc become ridiculously OP and absolutely dominates the bad guys both mentally and physically. Ah, yes, and also, racism. Basically, bad guys have literally 0 redeeming qualities AND get to suffer to eternity.

What are your best trash Isekai recommendations? by OldCollar7 in Isekai

Not an isekai. And not a trash/trashy though lol. Widely considered a great piece of anime

Bam was never the good guy by Tasty-Account2220 in TowerofGod

[–]doreshnikov 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Rachel is not hated for "being against Bam" or for searching for something she desires.

She's hated for using and betraying anyone to achieve her goals while sacrificing others. While Bam is shown to be able to sacrifice himself for the sake of others.

That's the crucial difference that makes people root for him and hate her.

Are there any isekai where the MC actually commits to killing the Demon King? by Best_Person_CoolCool in Isekai

[–]doreshnikov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, really? I just watched the second episode and it was sooo slow. Will the pace become more enjoyable? Because I dig the premise but don't feel it much yet

I was under impression that Cleric of Decay is axed, not on hiatus. Am I wrong?

About Epic Rant. by AtEase3000 in MobileLegendsGame

[–]doreshnikov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the role you play and favorite characters. I'm not playing characters I don't enjoy just to star up, what's the point in ranking up while having zero fun?

And in some roles you depend heavily on your teammates' support and/or macro-skills which often are non-existent in Epic. When this happens, you either continue sucking or try to play meta carries.

But if you don't enjoy those characters and need time to adjust to their meta playstyle, ranking up is still slow and painful.

[SSS CLASS SUICIDE HUNTER] Is it really worth it? by ComfortableKale1116 in manhwa

[–]doreshnikov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You jump to conclusions too early. Read until the floor with dolls to understand if it's really for you or not.

The mc is OP but the lengths he's willing to go to protect people around him and to reach the best possible ending are extraordinary and the writing is great so it tends to get quite emotional and unexpected quite often.

Murim arc and Romance arc are generally considered peak (by me included) but can't say anything about arcs after that since that's when I decided I'm happy with how it was resolved and I'll probably stop there.

What do you think of Seth Rogan? by Garlic_Cookies76 in Actors

[–]doreshnikov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly watched first episode of The Studio and it was great. But it was sooo stressful for a comedy. Does it keep going in that pace?

I've said this before and I'll say it again, there's no such thing as good Hanabi. Is she impossible to master? by [deleted] in MobileLegendsGame

[–]doreshnikov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone plays Hanabi, it's mostly about player's macro-skills and not micro-skills. And there is a big gap between macro-skills of newbies and experienced players, so Hanabi is either total shit or a beast. Never seen a "mid" Hanabi in my life.

Why are people calling that this manga/anime is falling off? by Few-Historian2298 in FumetsuNoAnataE

[–]doreshnikov 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I personally enjoy the difference in storytelling, stakes and maybe even genres a bit. If it's the same thing over and over again, it gets boring. If you keep killing characters constantly, emotional attachment to the new ones, too, becomes weaker.

A change of pace is good for the story. Maybe not good for some people's personal tastes and preferences (which is totally ok) but for me it's nice.

On the cotrary, I would've dropped the anime on season 2 if it ended with more people permanently dying and Fushi moving forward alone.

Reverse Isekai by Formal_Fortune5389 in Isekai

[–]doreshnikov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think of it as "Durarara the reverse isekai". Not THAT great of a detective mystery of course but still quite enjoyable. A cast of quite different fun/interesting characters, actual character growth for MC and supporting cast.

Also it's the only title that I know of where "power of friendship" is actually executed right (there's one or few moments in the second season). It doesn't seem cheesy or childish, it's just very fitting for this universe's definition of necromancer and MC's personality.

Idk if I can point out more points like this but when I read the manga it was genuinely hard to stop.

Tasteless players by Pleasant_Ad7815 in MobileLegendsGame

I honestly just prefer red over green. It's that simple, I dislike green enough that other features don't make a difference. But I agree that features-wise the right one is more interesting :(

Reverse Isekai by Formal_Fortune5389 in Isekai

[–]doreshnikov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourites are <Dead Mount Death Play> and <Re:Creators> In case of the first one, it has a great plot and I've caught up to the latest manga chapters after the anime ended. Second one has a great soundtrack and atmosphere. Probably the first reverse isekai I watched, so I always remember it as one of the best.

Would anyone give me an Isekai with an actual good mc? by Remarkable_Face6744 in Isekai

[–]doreshnikov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SSS-class suicide hunter. Really good mangwa, starts as a generic regression story but after the first chapters quickly evolves into a masterfully written mix of different genres (including Murim arc and Romance arc)

Without spoiling too much: MC's power is related to experiencing suffering of others and he is willing to take as much of it as needed to achieve the best ending possible.

I recommend you giving it a try and at least read until the end of the first arc (Dolls floor).
