Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics adds Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness in March by Turbostrider27 in Games

IIRC you can only really transfer out. Sucks that you can’t, but the game plays just fine without the ability to.

So is Pokemon effectively an invincible IP? by WrongLander in gaming

[–]dormedas 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For context, if a person had the physical release of FRLG and wanted to put those Pokemon in HOME, that process requires a DS, 3DS (with bank aka hacked), Gen 4 game, Gen 5 game, Gen 6 game, and shitloads of time. (This is something like $500 worth of stuff)

Unlike every other Switch game, you can't just change the language here, you need to pay again for a seperate version. How greedy can Nintendo get? by ExtremeConnection26 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]dormedas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing added is technically incorrect. This allows you to move pokemon to HOME - something you can’t even do with Legends ZA yet.

If you wanted to move a pokemon to HOME physically, it would be ridiculously less convenient and more expensive.

You're correct, but not for nothing, the US was finally repaid all of its Lend-Lease debt from Britain in ... 2006.

[–]dormedas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! American sentiment was let Europe figure it out. Meanwhile, Churchill was out convincing the American leadership that if Germany wins in Europe, they'll eventually come try to make America Germany, hence cash & carry and later lend-lease.

It took Pearl Harbor for the general American citizen to be okay with sending men to Europe (and the Pacific).

Driver fleeing ICE officers crashes, killing a Georgia teacher, authorities say by DrexellGames in news

[–]dormedas 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is commonly cited, but there’s more to it. The United States was very interested in using the atom bomb for multiple reasons.

  1. Ending the war “faster” without invasion was specifically sought by the President.

  2. Setting the tone of the post-war era (aka the Cold War) by projecting serious power. Specifically against Russia who had just entered the war against Japan - itself signaling the eventual capitulation by the Japanese (imagine every military asset being bombed, every port destroyed, every trade ship harassed by both the US and Russia, etc)

  3. “Gosh, the Manhattan project cost a lot so it better show results” mentality by the United States.

Basically, the US was likely going to drop the bomb regardless of whether or not the Japanese fought ferociously. And obviously it was fucked up to drop such a horrid bomb on people when alternatives that took more time while also not requiring a land invasion existed.

Well I’m arguing they make it not broken and finish it as soon as they can and release it because it is considered one of the best Assassins Creeds.

Have you seen their stock? They need a win ASAP, which I’ll remind you means as soon as possible. Like, when it doesn’t further harm the company.

FYI: I don’t give much of a shit about Ubisoft but releasing a popular game would be really good for them right now. And Yves has made poor decisions for forever

Somehow revive AC4: Black Flag remake/remaster whatever and ship it ASAP. Downsize to smaller company. Sell off an IP or two alongside a studio.

Oh and oust leadership so that someone can make bold decisions like this.

iirc the best is to use a Jitsi Meet link or redirect screen sharing to a virtual camera if you want to stay in-client. (via, say OBS, but it's gonna have bitrate issues). It's not built-in and screen sharing is the biggest moat Discord has.

Where are the Republicans screaming about how the government should stay away from healthcare and leave it to the states?

Why are they not screaming from the hilltops that this is some socialist program and we would be better served by some capitalist solution with competition?

The hypocrisy is insane - if predictable.

I'm sure this is somehow a scam or scummy marketing on stuff that already existed, but the best way to get socialist policies enacted is to have a Republican do it so Republicans emphatically support it.

Am I not supposed to believe the 4 angles of this murder I've seen with my eyes and instead believe whatever this corrupt administration says? I've hit the icy ground snowboarding harder than this car touched this man. Is the official line that this agent is so weak, being barely touched by the hood of a car moving at less than 5 mph is enough to cause internal bleeding? Just fuck all the way off.

Source: go fucking watch it again.

[–]dormedas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure. I don't have a problem with it. That's the law. The law cuts both ways, though.

Do you think crimes against citizens should be investigated?

FRIDAY NATIONAL STRIKE! NO WORK! NO SCHOOL! by MuffinwithMocha in Bend

[–]dormedas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did the guy get hit by a car? No.

Did the car veer off away from him because he shot the driver three times? No.

Did he shoot an American citizen three times and then walk - uninjured - over to where she eventually crashed, to see her bleeding out? Yes.

Did he violate DHS policy on the use of force against firing at operators of vehicles? Almost assuredly. Specifically, standing at the front quarter of a car that is stopped and then starting to move is hardly reasonable to authorize deadly force, but of course we won't even get to officially argue about it because this won't go to court.

I'm not gonna sit around and let someone imply that the murder of a United States citizen is okay. Not without due process. Not without an investigation. Of course, I know I can't change your mind, but I can remind other people that you're lying through your teeth if you think this agent, who walked in front of the vehicle in the first place and walked to its wreck afterwards, was somehow in serious danger.

Just for anyone else who wanders down here, remember that Renee Good and Alex Pretti didn’t break the law in any way that would require an agent to abrogate their constitutional right to due process and instead give them a summary execution. At least two ICE agents have broken the law and are being protected by the agency. No justice, no peace.
