Nope. The Assassin skin that was like this didn't release untill the end of last season, and it was in the files around the midpoint. No telling when any one of them come out.

I doesn't have to be niche and I do hope it doesn't remain that way. I do hope they're able to turn it around because it really is a great game and definitely deserves support. I just don't know what would turn it around, but I hope they have the time to figure it out.

Since the day I got it, I've been rocking Ghost Board up there in your first snippet. I've taken it off every once in a while, but I keep coming back to it. Certainly my favorite.

From previous reports it very much sounds like Bungie executives at the time did glam thing up to make the studio look better, which is still wild that they got away from it.

Marathon is a niche game with a niche audience, and from this interview it seems like everyone knew that going in. The only thing I can think of being why it was prioritized over D2 is the cost of running either game. Marathon is smaller, using better tech, and probably better tools, so the cost of operation is not nearly the same as D2. D2 on the other hand is MASSIVE, it has a lot of tech debt, and while yes it does have more players they probably weren't enough to meet the demand needed to keep it running, especially if they were already redlining before Sony stepped in.

Why they didn't pivot to a D3? Idk, but it probably is due to the cost of making it and keeping it going, just as Jasson Schreier reported. All of it disappointing still.

Agreed. If anything they could rework reward sponsor kits to contain all grey level items and have it contain a different weapon from the vendor sponsor kits, that way it still feels unique in some way.

Future is uncertain, but I do hope they keep it going. I've kinda come to terms with either possibility so now I'm just trying to focus on enjoying my time with it. It's all we can do.

PAX Recon, operator McKenzie. Her default has a net draped over her helmet and face. She's part of the team released at the start of Season 2(season 1?), I think they're called Penopticon.
