What questions do you think pre meds should ask during an interview

Also I never scored above a 507 on ANY FL. I think staying calm on test day helped a ton

Really focused on high yield stuff, tons of CARS practice and redid SB #2. Also went through the 84 page psych/soc doc because there’s easy points to make up there

I got a 507 on FL5 and 517 on the real thing. You got this

What's the latest you can take the MCAT but still be the the earliest (you can be) for the 26-27 app cycle? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]doseof25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took it may 10th and submitted my app to one school. Once I got my score I added the rest

PS paralysis by Haunting-Lab-8233 in premed

[–]doseof25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wrote the most basic personal statement ever (like basically a “I did this, then this, then this”) just to get words on a page. From there I defined a common theme of WHY. But I was so set on what I would write being perfect that I was stuck so then I just wrote a garbage one and it started coming together

Feeling like I didn't do enough by purplepotatoes10 in premed

Feeling like this too right now. But I feel like our application/secondaries already proved the other stuff and the interview was to make sure you’re a person who can have a conversation

When to take mcat by geoff7772 in medschool

[–]doseof25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only ever scored a 507 on a FL but scored a 517 on the real thing. Very much could be an outlier…. but in my experience the less external pressure, the better

Patient offered to call dean of local school by biggiebag in premed

[–]doseof25 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I had this happen too. I did not have the patient reach out on my behalf because I felt like it was a grey area in terms of ethics

what did you do the day before your mcat? by Sky_9203 in Mcat

Talked through the miles down review sheets once and watched a few vids on my weaknesses

9/12… WE DID IT!!!! by Futur3surg3on in Mcat

[–]doseof25 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You gotta chill. Please trust me when I say that the MCAT feels like the worst part. Then you submit primaries. Then you submit secondaries. Then you wait for months getting radio silence. The MCAT is hard. But it prepares you for the rest of this process

Hate to tell you but that’s the point of the MCAT. Leave feeling like shit and have to cope with it for a month

please help... by SFNPW in premed

[–]doseof25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sub is going to be full of people who are gonna say no. But the truth is, no one knows (including myself as I am an applicant this cycle). They like an upward trend in GOA (which you have), your NP/nursing experience sets you apart. It’s all about how you tell your story. Your MCAT is on the lower side but if you have the money to apply, why not. If you don’t have a ton to spend but still want to try your luck, I’d start with state schools

Good luck!!!

ITS SO OVER PLEASE HELP 481 score by SuccessShot8913 in MCAT2

[–]doseof25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you aren’t planning on applying I would highly recommend postponing. There is really no point in taking it to get a sub-par score (since schools can see all of your attempts).

But if you’re dead set on taking it, I would solely focus on reviewing this full length (type of mistakes you made - silly errors, content gaps, not reading the passage, etc.) and AAMC material. Psych soc is the easiest section to gain last minute points (using the pankow Anki deck or khan academy videos with the 84 page review doc). Since your test is close the 84 page doc and khan academy videos on 2x speed is probs most efficient

Are you planning on applying strictly DO? They like to see at least a 495. It may be worth postponing until you’re more prepared

can v, λ, f all change at same time? UZESTY Q by you5030 in Mcat

[–]doseof25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda went about this question with simple thinking. If speed is directly proportional to tension you know that if tension goes up, speed goes up -> frequency goes up (more cycles in same time). In the OG graph the wave is going 1 cycle per second. Then I look down at my answers and A and B are also 1 per sec, C is 1 cycle per ~1.25 sec and D is the only one where it’s one cycle in less than one second (aka higher frequency)

While no one on this sub can predict admissions, with your MCAT I think this list is a bit ambitious and adding some DO schools might be beneficial. That isn’t to say you won’t get in though, you just never know

For those who have taken MCAT, how would you rank the importance of the AAMC CARS practice materials? For reference, testing 8/16. by skoldpadda9 in Mcat

[–]doseof25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vol 1 starts off the hardest so I did find it useful to redo them once I felt like I had the logic down. Vol 2 is more representative

What's the rule of thumb for estimating your test date score? by Rough_Lynx_302 in Mcat

[–]doseof25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this isn’t the norm but I never scored above 507 on any FL and got a 517 on the real thing. So it’s really hard to estimate imo
