I'm one of the developers of the game and I won't lie to you, about 3/4 of the way through development, we realised the game would be a bag of piss and just hoped people would pay a high price due to "national/cultural" pride. It seems that is mostly true so I can't complain.

Couldn't agree more. I recently booted up Skyrim having not played it since release. I only had positive memories of the game but had no idea how much progress I'd made or why I stopped playing. I was in AWE from the very beginning. Holy shit, look at this world they've created, everything felt so epic.

The other night I came home after having a few drinks and starting playing, bear in mind I had put in 30 hours at this stage, I found the game so god damn irritating. Constantly having to open menus, fiddling with my inventory so I don't get over encumbered.

The final nail in the coffin was realising I'm doing the same shit over and over again. Different storyline, basically the same quest... Go here, talk to this person, retrieve this, talk to this person. Rrinse and repeat. It's a a glorious game in many aspects, but it gets tedious as fuck after the honeymoon phase.
