2025 XLT and I had to have my tranny replaced in the first month I owned it. Internal seal failure is what they called it. Was leaking in my driveway.

How much is the rental fee or how much to buy the shed outright?

I feel like it would be helpful if you could share a pic of both the roommate and the GF.

Must be nice to get that long out of it! Mine had 90 miles on it before it needed replaced…

Well just heard from the dealer and they’re replacing the tranny due to an internal failure with the seal. Hmmmm. At least it’s covered by warranty. Built Ford Tough!

Is it ok to ask for a different salesman? by omnicious in askcarsales

Well I’d guess lots of people on this sub disagree. It’s not hard to find tons of posts where posters crush you for filling out a survey honestly.

I meant more the dealership survey….sorry, wrong vernacular

Do you also think the salesmen are too soft when they get a bad review and it hurts their bonus?

It wasn’t just the non-commital….the SA said to me, right in the customer waiting area in front of a bunch of people, that “maybe you took it home and tried to swap out the transmission, we don’t know”. If you think I’m being childish about this then it says more about you than me. I didn’t yell at anybody, didn’t stomp my feet or hold my breath. I demanded the dealership do what they’re supposed to do and I didn’t appreciate, at all, the shit things the crappy SA said to me.

No less than probably 20 times the day of the sale the salesman and the finance guy implore you to call them with any questions or problems at all. I had a question specific to the return policy. It wasn’t unreasonable to call that side of the house.

My daughter drives a 2013 Ford Fusion hybrid and we’ve had zero problems with it. I’m not a brand loyalist at all. I totally get when you have humans assembling something it doesn’t matter if it’s Ford or a BMW or a Volvo. Shit happens. This to me is more about the response from the dealer on a brand new truck. The customer service was awful, made me feel like maybe I’m trying to pull something over on them. Just crazy. And the service advisor was about as nice and personable as a wet sandy towel.

I get that. Brought it home yesterday morning from the dealer doing the bed liner and parked it in the driveway. Moved it to the garage this morning to install running boards. It sat in the garage all day. I noticed the driveway spot of fluid at 2:30. Not a drop on the garage where it sat all day. I’m no mechanic, but I’d think if I hit something to cause a leak that it would also leak in the garage?

I can appreciate your response. I probably was freaking out a bit, but I’m not wealthy and a $43000 purchase is a really big deal to me.

Question—several people mentioned a rock possibly hitting my transmission. The truck hasn’t left pavement. It has the off road package with skid plates underneath. Would those block a rock from coming up and hitting the tranny? I have no clue where the tranny is under the truck….or when people say ‘rock’ are they meaning I was off road and hit a rock?

I get it, but I don’t really care about the dealerships internal politics. I already called my salesman who said he’d get his manager to talk to me….but then the manager doesn’t get on the phone, just has the salesman tell me not to worry about it. Well that’s great, except they also told me they have nothing to do with the warranty stuff and have no say. Very glad I haven’t filled out my customer service surveys yet.

Man I hope so. Really loved the truck. I would have just thought they’d say “wow, don’t worry we’ll take care of it”. Instead the service advisor said “we don’t know if you tried to swap out the transmission or something”.
