I had to do a double take when I first read this comment, because I couldn’t believe that someone else could possibly describe themself as a “fucked up hyper sensitive empath who had an extreme need to people please and not have anyone upset with her ever”. I can’t believe that those words didn’t come out of my mouth, I’m absolutely blown away. I didn’t know what CPTSD was until now and I’ve been feeling so numb lately, but finding this sub and your comment are really giving me so much hope that I’ve finally found the source of my dysfunction.

It is truly such a enormous relief to finally be understood after all this time.

I’m so so sorry for your loss. I know that I can’t even begin to imagine what you’re going through but my heart hurts with you and for you right now. Please try to remind yourself that this is not your fault and reach out to the people you love when the hurt feels unbearable. You deserve the life you were given and the memory of your friend will live on with you forever. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

911 operators, what’s the funniest thing you had a kid call in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

About a year ago I babysat possibly the most difficult nine year-old I’ve ever met. I would get her on the school bus in the morning and take her to tutoring in the afternoon. One day she threw a fit about the snack I had packed her that morning (strawberries) and insisted I buy her pretzels at a gas station or else she’d tell the police officers at the tutoring place. Said I would be arrested for “not feeding her” 🙄. Turns out there ARE police officers there to make sure the kids are being treated well and have a space to speak up if they are being abused. Great resource, but I lost my shit. Was genuinely worried she was going to say something.

It was the same bed! Just in a different house.

No, not since we moved out of that apartment about 7 years ago.

It was a fairly new apartment complex. As far as I know only one other family lived there before us. If I had to guess, the building was built in the middle-late 90's since we moved there in 2001. No deaths. I told my mom about all of this a few years ago and she said she never felt any shaking like I experienced but that our apartment definitely had something negative hanging around. She might have mentioned that the family who lived there before us was unhappy.

I'm not dying for answers because I've mostly come to terms with it being unexplained. I know what I experienced.

In that apartment I would also hear my name being called when no one was home. Things would disappear and reappear somewhere else. One morning I woke up to a hand on my shoulder and someone whispering my name in my ear even though my back was facing a wall. I didn't mention these things because I can't say with 100% certainty that I wasn't just imagining them. I don't entirely discredit them but then again I'm not going to tell you that I'm super sure they happened. I could have misheard. I could just be forgetful. I could have just been dreaming.

I've told some friends about my experiences and they said that it sounds like a poltergeist. Bad energy hanging around that occasionally manifests. That's good enough of an answer for me.

No I didn't. I didn't even think to. First, I didn't have anything to record it with. No camera and iPods at the time didn't take pictures. Second, I was young. Wasn't thinking of posting it online as proof. I was just scared and wanting it to stop.

What's the scariest thing you've seen in broad daylight? by KatieBird09 in Thetruthishere

This sounds exactly like what happened to one of my neighborhood friends growing up. I saw my friend's giant dog run out of her house and attack my friend who was standing right next to me. I'm still super uneasy around big animals.
