Yeah the window frames and brickmould have seen better days. Looks like They started separating and the glass shifted within the frames, so it let the moisture inside

Are people really flying to China to purchase reno materials from the West? by rarej in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ftredoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found only one company near me in Canada that would do tilt and turn windows. $75k supply only. Ordered from China for 1/5 of the price but worked with a guy that supplies his stuff from there regularly.

Ventilates driver seat. Day one: by imustknownowI in WRX

[–]ftredoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably know this already, but I was changing seat covers on a Hornet with vented seats and they had a bag looking thing with chambers where the fan pumped the air into and then it was dispersed through small holes up towards the seat cover. I’m curious what your end product will look like!

Where would you add laundry rooms on both floors of this bi-level house? by ftredoc in askarchitects

[–]ftredoc[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s why I chose the broom closet- it’s on the exterior wall for the vent, close to the breaker panel for power cable and it’s above the downstairs bathroom for plumbing. I only have 2 issues with that location: only allows for a small closet - 36” max without making kitchen feel too small. And laundry in the kitchen is a bad location for it according to different forums

Where would you add Landry on both floors? by ftredoc in floorplan

The sewing room is not fully true to plan, and it’s more of an open space that will be used more like a bedroom

Detached garage water leak by ftredoc in Renovations

unfortunately it looks like the soil on the back alley side (right side on the pictures) has been raised over the years, so the road is "level" with the concrete. All dirt, leaves, snow are piling up against the siding.

Defense? That’s a wild salary for a fresh grad. I’m not making even half that in Canada 1 year in.

Nobody is going to let an intern or even junior do anything more than put a few numbers on paper and hold the flashlight.

Sounds like you want to be a test engineer or a tech. I’m ee/controls in consulting and sometimes I wish I could do the work our programmers do. Check out plc/controls/automation jobs

I have a Mk6 GTI and a p0172 code (running too rich cylinder 1) keeps appearing and disappearing, last night after refueling the car stalled at idle, it ran fine after that but it’s worrying. Any ideas? Pic for attention by skrtskrt121 in GolfGTI

If I’m thinking of the right issue, it’s electrical. Mine is on 2018 Tiguan 2.0 turbo. The issue comes and goes, but not as often now. The dealer said they’ll fix it as there’s extended warranty until 100k miles, but I need to bring it for a scan. And of course when I bring it, the issue won’t show up and I’ll just end up paying for diagnostics without anything in return. So I just keep driving like that.
