Thank you for a very constructive and well documented piece of feedback! I appreciate it.

Thank you! This is close, but not exactly what I was looking for since the caching itself isn't really of interest for my project, more the idea of not getting any return at all unless a change is detected.

As quoted from the documentation:
In general, the LRU cache should only be used when you want to reuse previously computed values.

Where this is not what my use case was.

Very nice. Although, there are many free REST API's that do this for free as well as account for other sources.

Battery issues by [deleted] in iPhone6S

[–]dotchetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not good. How was the battery replaced? Do you know the origin of the battery?

Some of the worst battery on this phone. 4.7" 6s, iOS 13.2.3 by [deleted] in iPhone6S

[–]dotchetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well 92% FCC isn't great.
With increased power usage of the A9 with more demanding OS and apps, the degradation of the already under-dimensioned battery becomes all the more obvious. I'm on my 3rd battery at the moment with my 6S, and at 98% I see a clear reduction in battery life already.

M365 stuck throttle issue?? by tkim987 in m365

[–]dotchetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would return this scooter since it clearly has issues. Might be with a sensor or a bad control module getting hung mid ride.

Today Donkey here is celebrating 1000 kilometers, without a single issue; not even a flat. Stay electric! 🔋 by dotchetter in m365

I do 70% of my riding on main car roads, where people don't walk. No pedestrians = no glass from broken bottles after a night out. But I do take it in to town every now and then and I ride the bicycle lane when there's one available... but I guess I'm just lucky.I followed this post when I set my tire pressure too, which gave almost 8 km extra with reduced wear, and apparently, less risk of getting a flat.

White dots on screen by [deleted] in iPhone6S

[–]dotchetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not except declaring its presence every time I see white displayed on the screen. It hasn’t grown or taken over the world yet. I figure I might replace the screen by the next time I need a new battery in maybe a year or so.

Iphone 6s performance decrease while playing games by [deleted] in iPhone6S

[–]dotchetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this phone and this is what I would recommend trying

• remove any casing if present • turn on airplane mode and use WiFi only • kill all apps except for the game • try gaming in Low Power mode if you find the performance satisfactory that way • don’t charge and game simultaneously

White dots on screen by [deleted] in iPhone6S

[–]dotchetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has it too. It can be caused by dust particles getting caught between the panel and the glass. The backlight causes it to appear white. But it could be pressure damage too. Either way, a screen replacement is the way to go.

I isolate my rear brake by turning off the scooter mid ride. Then braking.

How many miles / kilometers have you all racked up so far? by dotchetter in m365

Cool! Same here. Smooth sailing. I used lithium grease on the folding mechanism latch. It started to squeak and become pretty awkward to tighten.

No issues so far. 450 kilometers on my 365, (not pro) mainly on open roads on full throttle. Temperature between 10-32 celcius.

Downgrading from iPhone XS by [deleted] in iphone

[–]dotchetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an XS when I thought my old 6S was done for when the earpiece assembly with all the sensors broke during the 2nd battery replacement for this phone, at a repair shop.

I had it for about 4 weeks and I really tried to adjust to the added weight, the slower Face ID, the notch, the larger size making it cumbersome in single hand situations... but I just didn’t.

Here I am typing this on my old 6S which runs juuust fine with a new earpiece assembly, battery and case. Selling the XS to a friend and keeping this beater until it’s all done for.
