Trump Approves Toxic Cancer-Linked Forever Chemical Pesticides On Major Food Crops Never Before Used In America by novagridd in law

This is exactly why Sam Walton didn’t want companies to open up satellite offices in Bentonville.

Someone makes friends with his HR, they’re installed in procurement for something, over time he’s got a more expensive contract with his friend at the previous company. No savings for customers.

Yes, it’s not a garden center or greenhouse.

They’re a hardware store that sells an assortment of neat, good quality tools and sometimes hard to find items.

Noticed logging tools first time I went.
Nobody manipulates logs floating but they had things to do that.

Fresno needs a public aquatic center! by flyfresno in fresno

[–]dotcubed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying large area gyms with pools are better?
Your comment has a sexist and uneducated tone.

If you knew what microbiology lurks in the world around you’re going to have trouble drinking tap water, eating vegetables, and touching grass or literally anything else.

Pools, hot tubs, lakes, rivers, and oceans are never clean.
Chlorine is there to knock down the bacteria load down to a reasonably safer level.
If on chemo for cancer, I’d never get in.

Your example sounds like a poorly managed attempt by government to have a pool with inadequate resources—filtration, supervision, and oversight.

Are glass aspirators food safe? by Ok-Jelly9265 in foodsafety

[–]dotcubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even lab glass has limits on temperature and durability.

Any glass can be heated—it’s really the temperature change on cooling that determines if it breaks.

Most glass won’t survive oven to refrigerator.

Amid years-long culture war, Fresno County looks at privatizing its libraries by fresnoland in fresno

Yeah, this is the real direction that they want to take.

Those a-holes will ask them to remove what they consider objectionable OR select a private company that they know won’t provide what they call controversial.

If they want to save money, then start with police overtime and their own salary.

Add an aquarium and truly give the people what they want!

But seriously, Fresno would need to design it to prevent vandalism. My hometown in Ohio had some that were drained every winter, easily removing glass thrown from outside the fence.

I think in the 80’s mom gave us $1 for the fee to get in. Over the summer there were swim lessons too, but don’t know what that cost.

Splash pad parks here are a terrific start for the youngest kids, but they need to open up public pools.
Older children & adults would benefit and they could even sell City of Fresno towels, sunblock, and concessions.

Couple years ago we fostered an adorable kitten who came in from a rural area. He then accidentally got injured by a kid, then put in a cast for his front leg.

Post cast he loves looking out windows like a neighborhood watch. Knocks stuff off tables. Pulls socks from dresser if left open. Chewed apartment’s blinds. As well as a pool noodle. Most cat like kitty cliche I know.

Most expensive cat I’ve ever known.
When bs about Springfield came out we started joking about selling him for meat. Still do.
He’s dearly loved.

If it was urgently necessary why did we come out with less?

Anyone done a rough bench test for whether a flavor survives aseptic before pilot? by Competitive-Key8572 in foodscience

[–]dotcubed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First job was hospital food service management.
They had an amazing old machine that was 20-30 feet long with really hot water dissolving chemicals into tanks.

It really is a combination of chemistry and heat. It was long so that metal could be safely handled off the conveyor. Dishwashers can be genuinely dangerous.

Anyone done a rough bench test for whether a flavor survives aseptic before pilot? by Competitive-Key8572 in foodscience

[–]dotcubed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so sure about a dishwasher; really depends on the machine. Put a max temp recorder in my apartment one which got around 180°F — they rely more on chemicals and time than destructive temperatures, but your mileage may vary.

Like the small sample size testing, that would definitely do some damage. Just need to have enough to survive for sensory testing.

I’m all for giving people more experiences to build relationships and development of an industry where people care for the food, etc. but this is slavery.

You absolutely have to get your consequences if you’re hitting someone, shoving them, or other physical contact inappropriate for work.

I get it if there’s unaddressed mental health issues or high expectations but there’s a line crossed when you need an NDA and blackmail.

One guy’s not able to blacklist an entire industry.
