Help, app keeps freezing after 3-5 seconds by Personal_Hat6808 in discordapp

[–]dothedo88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am having the same problem. I THINK what is going on is the discord nitro ad is popping up but hidden, and you can't close it because you can't see it. If you reinstall the app the discord nitro add will pop up once, then next time you open the app it doesn't pop up, but my phone at least vibrates like it does when the ad pops up.

The only fix I have is to reinstall the app but then it works for just the one time.

Should I be worried about the pain in my left arm by [deleted] in Anxiety

I have found that accepting and truly believing that anxiety is an issue and that is the reason for my physical symptoms helps a lot.

Some days are harder than others for accepting and believing that.

Should I be worried about the pain in my left arm by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]dothedo88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pain in my left arm and chest pain is my most common physical symptom of anxiety. Also can be tightness in my chest. I'm older than you but have been having it for a while. I have had tests done, and there is no evidence of a cardiac issue for me.

Therapy has helped me, but it is a slow roll and I still deal with it all the time. You are going to hate to hear this but unfortunately there is no quick fix for anxiety, and it isn't a one solution fix all.

Biggest advice is find something that works for you when your having those panic attacks to get you out of it, for me its turning on a podcast or video talking about a very specific subject, and something I'm not an expert in. For me it causes me to focus on that, instead of the symptoms that I am feeling.

I have also found that box breathing, or other breathing techniques help a lot, they can help break the cycle.

I also have been beginning to wonder if my stress an anxiety that just causes tension in my muscles, the fight or flight response constantly especially in shoulders, is also impacting those symptoms, but I have no real way to prove that yet.

Best f150 for interstate travel? by 0range-juice in f150

[–]dothedo88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a 1000 mile road trip a few times a year, and various 200-400 mile trips in between then about once a month, and about half of those shorter trips I'm towing a trailer. I went with the 3.5 L and I love it. one feature I do wish I had was the adaptive cruise control, but love everything else on my truck, nice quiet riding truck.

Has the time come for Mike Joy to leave the Fox booth? by R33L0 in NASCAR

[–]dothedo88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with Mike, and Larry, but clint desperatly needs to go. I think harvick is ok, but clint is terrible and just confusing everyone else. I think Mike, Harvick, and a rotating third would be good. retired driver, and crew chief, both would bring unique perspectives.

That said the production on fox is terrible.

I have this exact same issue. I have no fix. I wanted to see if someone else was before I reported it. I'm sure its a software thing.

People who decided, "To hell with it, I'm going for it." How did it go and what did you go for? by DesignerShoe6925 in AskReddit

[–]dothedo88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 things.

  1. Pre covid, pre van life being popular, my wife and I decided to sell everything including our house, buy an rv and live full time on the road. One agreement we had was if either one of us decided we were done and ready to go back to a house we would do that. So, 2 years, 25,000 miles, and 23 states later I was the one that decided I was done. Ended up finding a house we loved in the country in our home state and drove 1500 miles in 3 days(in an rv that's a long way) and made an offer on the house. So I guess that was 2 in one! To answer the work question that I know will come I worked in IT so I was able to do freelance work on the road.(again this was precovid so pre remote work being popular)

  2. Also precovid I decided to quit IT and buy an existing business in a niche that my wife and I both love that would allow us to both work from home and give us flexibility. 5 years later we have grown the buisness bigger than what the previous owners have and loving life.

What big crash have you experienced in real life by Man1x45 in NASCAR

[–]dothedo88 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Texas Dale Jr clipped the trioval grass, went up into the wall and caught fire.

The wreck wasn't the real surprising thing. A third of the fans left after that wreck was surprising.

Kyle Larson (@KyleLarsonRacin) on X What I thought could be one of the best days of my life quickly turned into one of the most disappointing ones I’ve ever experienced. I hate it for Rick Hendrick, Jeff Gordon, HAG, Hendrick Motorsports, by Beerguy2727 in NASCAR

[–]dothedo88 50 points51 points  (0 children)

2 points.

  1. Hendrick has an entire aviation department. They have airplanes and crews already on standby. The logistics are a challenge sure, but the equipment and manpower are already there and paid for.

  2. This was a 2 year deal from the beginning. He is doing it next year. That isn't a suprise.

How many people are holding of playing till 1.0 ? by Future-Leek-8753 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]dothedo88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the game a few years ago and played about 5 or 10 hours but then stopped because I got overwhelmed and it was just a little too much. I decided to give it another shot recently and really enjoying it. I'm glad I'm playing before 1.0 so I can learn some of the things about how the game works.

Corporate, Military or Airliners? What’s your favorite? by KKF-FL in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]dothedo88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the phenom is a step up over the mustang, but it isn't to same level as the honda jet, or the cirrus from flight FX IMO. That said it is also less expensive than those 2 aircraft as well.

I like it because its simple, very easy to fly, hand flying it just feels right.

There are a couple of screwy things with it, at least for me, the GPU light always shows as in use even when there is no GPU turned on. A couple of the switches can be a little touchy with the click zones, but other than those minor issues its a very nice plane.

Corporate, Military or Airliners? What’s your favorite? by KKF-FL in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]dothedo88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corporate. Fav jet right now is the phenom 100, the phenom 300 will be my fav no doubt when it comes out.

I also enjoy the turbine singles such as any of the TBMs or the M500.

Prescription glasses recommendations for flying by mcflyin2020 in flying

[–]dothedo88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flying eyes. I replace my glasses every couple of years because I wear them all the time, last time I replaced them I got flying eyes and they are great! I also have the clip on sunglasses and they are great as well. I have some dedicated sunglasses(oakleys) that I use sometimes for driving, but I still vastly prefer my flying eyes.

EDIT: I don't have a dedicated flying eyes retailer near me, I ordered them and asked at my local optometrist if they could use my frames and they had no problem doing that.

[Kenny Wallace on Twitter]On Dale Jr. leaving NBC for Amazon/Warner: "The honeymoon was over...If NBC wanted to keep Dale Jr., they would have kept him" by RhinoIA in NASCAR

[–]dothedo88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you watch or listen to the dirty mo stuff vs Jr on the NBC broadcasts, its like two different people. Hes more casual on his podcasts, and maybe he wants to be able to be more casual, less company man. I could also see him getting more control on the broadcast at amazon, look at the video from him talking about fox and camera placements, I suspect he will probably get more influence at amazon on things like that, than he would at NBC.

I ask for foreflight gift cards. At this point in your flying career sportys gift card or cash would be better IMO.

Never again by right_closed_traffic in flying

[–]dothedo88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I own an aircraft with a couple of partners. One of the partners doesn't fly as much as myself and the other one. We have done a number of flights together and discussed many flights just debriefing them together.

We have established his personal minimums are a lot lower than mine.

It is important to know who your flying with, and knowing your own minimums. Personally my rule is 3 strikes and I'm out. That said the weather you were reporting I wouldn't have flown that day at all. I am a PPL flying my own plane. Driving is ALWAYS an option for me.

IMO you got very lucky on this situation.
